Parent Swap Passes

I have been a season pass holder for 6 years now. My wife and I just had our first kid. We were wondering if anyone had experience with the parent swap passes.

Can you only use these on each ride one time?

What about fast passes is that possible?

There's no limitation to how many times you can use them, but one parent must wait in line each time.

Both parents must have FL passes in order to use Parent Swap with FL.

Congrats! On that note, I have no useful info on this. :P

Congratulations on serving your evolutionary purpose, and welcome to "the club". We've been waiting for you.

The hidden joys of being accompanied by a tiny human at the park are many, and parent swap is just one of them.

What DJ said. And you can pick up your PS pass at the customer service building right at the entrance. When you lose it at some point in the day after changing a diaper while your wife rides SkyHawk, you can pick up a new on at the Frontier Museum as well.

Your new favorite destination at the park is now located in Planet Snoopy; the air-conditioned family service/first-aid center.

Heck, we should make a "so you're a new parent at Cedar Point" brochure.

This!

Congratulations on the new addition to your family!

Parent Swap works like this: At the entrance of any attraction, request a parent swap from the host. He/she will ask for your last name and give you a pass. At this time, Split your party so that up to 2 people (at least one must be 14 or older) who wish to ride wait outside the queue with the child that does not meet the height requirement. The rest of your party may enter the line and wait. If you have fastlane, you may use that queue but everyone who intends to ride must have it.

Once you reach the platform, hand the pass to one of the hosts (on the exit side for most rides). They will retain your pass while you ride and then exit. At this time, meet up with your party and send up to 2 people who waited with the child up the exit while the people in your party who rode first stay with the child. After those 2 people have ridden, the ride hosts should give the pass back to you. If your pass is lost during the day, just obtain a new one from another ride entrance.

Some additional tips:

  • Establish a designated point to meet and communicate plans with your group to minimize issues with meeting back up.
  • The parent swap passes do not have a time on them. This makes it possible for the party with the children to enjoy attractions such as the children's areas, Dinosaurs Alive! and shows while those in your group ride first.
  • Parent Swaps are good for one day only. If you stay multiple days, you will have to obtain a new one for each day.
  • Parent Swaps may not be used for someone to watch loose articles; a child must be involved.
  • For safety reasons, we are never permitted to allow a guest who does not meet the ride requirements past the entrance.

LMBO! This actually happened to me and my hubby! It's like you were there with us that day!

I have no need for this, but am asking just out of curiosity. Is there a size/age limit on the involved child? And if so, are there exceptions for a special needs individual who is not a "child"?

Proud to have fathered a second generation coaster enthusiast destined to keep me young at heart and riding coasters with a willing partner into my golden years!

No requirement at all for parent swap, I have a 11 year old that is terrified of coasters.

There is a special needs pass for other situations, a friend has an autistic 16 year old that cannot stand in lines without it getting to be too much and gets over stimulated. They go to the ride entrance and get a time from the employee equal to the current wait time to come back and ride right away.

JTaylor is correct, There is a separate program for disabilities. You are getting into a grey area Rusty and it will boil down to the discretion of the ride hosts. I see no issue myself with issuing a parent swap for special needs or for a scared guest of a young age. If a person is not disabled and old enough to be left unsupervised and alone, then there might be potential for an issue. To my knowledge, there is not an established age/ height limit on the parent swap.

It will be my husband and I and our 2 daugters ages 5 and 9 so technically the 9 year old can right once with each one of us right? Also does this work at Cedar Shores for the bigger slides too?

That's correct Gabby691... two rides for the 9 year old. Don't know about the water park though.

Right? Our now 10 year old has been the true benefactor of parent swap for years. Wait in line with parent A, ride. Skip the line with parent B and ride again.

I honestly haven't a clue about the water park.

I'm not aware of there being parent swap for the water park. I'm not even sure how that would work given there is no "exit" area.

I agree. Even the Accessibility Boarding Pass program does not apply at the waterpark. The only exit is down the slide or pushing past the entrance line.
