I have heard that CP may try an overnight ride night toward the end of the season to see if it is successful. Supposedly, you will be able to ride from 10pm to 6am. Ticket prices have not been determined yet. i think this would be great, if it does in fact happen.
That would be cool. But will the employes feel the same way about it as we do. They are the ones who would have to work.

i hope they try it when its warmer out and not the end of season when its cold at night if they do.
If they happen to do it often then they will probably get more employees for a night shift. Just as some place like Jeep where my dad works over at the new plant they have a 1st shift (morning/day) and 2nd shift (evening/night) and possibly a 3rd shift if they need I don't know if they decided to have one yet but thats kinda how I think Cedar Point could work it out if they decided to be open at night.

Sounds crazy. Almost unbelievable. But cool if it's going to happen.

ZZZzzZZzZZZzz...
If they do happen to have this rumored overnight riding would a season pass holder still have to pay for a ticket to it......probably to make it a profitable business venture huh?
Would maintenance be able to have the time to do the necessary repairs they do every night?
I'm skeptical, but it sure would be nice for us peeps if they did it! I've always loved the park at night, but there are usually only 3-4 hours tops of darkness before the guests have to leave. I'd give it a definite "thumbs up" if they were thinking about doing it.
I highly doubt this is true...1. The guests who pay to get in the morning and stay there all day would definently wait for the overnight riding making no profit...Maybe yes if the food stalls were open but not likely..2.The people that pay in the morning and as well as all night would stay for the overnight riding and stay in the park..as well as for the next day so they dont have to pay..
Example Me Greg Steinman would come in at 10 am june 29th lets say...and pay 38.99. I would ride maybe 10 am to 5pm and go home and get rest come back at 930 and stay all night through 6am on the 30th. Well the gates open at 10 so I will walk around the beach and the park..I automatically get in for free at the park the next day get it?
I mean im not mr. Know it all but it's just a thought. It would be unlikely I think if on those overnight ride days that they would close the park at 8 and get everyone outta there to pay again for the overnighter.

Good thinking Greg, but there has to be SOME way they could prevent guests from "automatically" getting into the park free... what about just making sure that everyone is out by the time a "session" ends?

I don't think it would ever happen... The #'s that they put up for MM last year didn't even make them a profit.. and that was only 5 rides and some food places.
Now imagine the costs of running the whole park over the night.
Doesn't make bussiness sense..

I think its a good idea. Think for a second though, who says that it has to be a weekend during the regular season. They could do it after the regular season, like the Friday night before bonus weekends start.

Or they could just go until around 4 or 5 in the AM, still allowing SOME time, be it not much, for maintenance to do their thing, as well as get everyone out of the park.

Good points..all of you. I think CP could really go either way with it. It probably would take a lot of advanced planning, but it COULD work, or it might be a complete flop, just like TTR....;) sorry, could'nt resist..
Well, on another note... I just got done talking to a few of my friends in Bayside (trying to organize next weekend's "Let's party like nuts because after this it's all downhill 2001 Party" and not a one has heard anything about a late ride night.
Not to mention not a one of them said they would work it. One of the people I talked to is a food services double blue. I doubt it will ever see the light of day..

It wouldn't be that hard to stop guests from the previous day from riding rides...all they would need to do is give out some kind of distinguishing objects like they do at Coastermania. And they wouldn't necessarily have to leave either, they could walk about the park and buy things or play arcade games which would make money for the park.
maybe MM will be overnight this year?
