Overflow lines...

So what rides do you guys notice never use overflow lines anymore? I remember the first year Shoot the Rapids opened I waited in the overflow line past the train tracks but in the last few years I have never waited that far back. Mean Streak never seems to go over to the overflow area. Same with Corkscrew.

Also, I definitely have never waited in the overflow in the CCMR line.

I usually do go during pretty busy season but never on a Halloweekend Saturday. Do these overflows get used much?

Remember riding Shoot The Rapids on a Saturday in July of 2010, the line had spilled out of the queue area. With a break down thrown in, it turned out be a hour ten minute wait. Besides on Saturdays during the season, I would say the over flow or the full queue being used up would be during Halloweekends. Also remembering joining the line for Dragster back in 2003 on a Friday in July past the grand stand, with the queue filled up. That turned out be a 2 hour 30 minute wait. But it was worth it.

Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"

I almost want to say the majority of still-extant overflow lines are almost entirely for Halloweekends and the busiest weekends in July. That and I'm sure any especially hot day will fill up Shoot the Rapids pretty well.

I never see Maverick use the switchbacks under the covered part by the stairs anymore. I think I only saw it used twice.

Which is a shame because in my opinion, the more people you can fit under shade the better.

Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

I always wondered why they don't use it often. I agree with you on that!
