Order of Rides Necesary?

This is kind of stupid, but my friend has been to Cedar Point many times, and he said that it helps a lot to have a list of rides you do, and the order they should be rode in. I personally think it is best to play it by which line is the shortest, but I have never tried the order-on-paper approach. What are all of your opinions?

My friend and I did that on Saturdays during the summer. We could only stay till about 4 and had to leave to fulfill other obligations. After you've been there so many times you know which rides have short lines and when.Every week we would just ride the same ones in a certain order and if we would happen to see a short line for something else then we'd jump on it.Of course we made sure we had time to watch our friends in the live shows too! :)

Well at Cedar Point have fun tring to make a list of rides you do in order...

Play it by ear but I do recomend these rides (My favorites from greatest to least)

Millennium Force

Maverick

Top Thrill Dragster

Power Tower

Skyhawk & maXair (but maXair is down currently)

Magnum XL-200

Wicked Twister

Raptor

Gemini

EXT

While always leaving things flexable and spur of the moment heres some things to consider:

-MF, Maverick, Raptor and TTD will have long lines pretty much the whole day

-MF, Maverick and Raptor are early entry rides, which means that if you get there at normal opening they will already have a substantial lines, but TTD which doesnt should have an under 30 min wait, meaning you should hit that first

-Gemini tradtionally doesnt run both trains in the early morning, and late evening. It also usually has a small line, best to hit this one midday

-Raptor, being situated at the front of the park will have its shortest waits of the day mid afternoon

-Best to do the park back to front

-MF and Magnum at night are must dos, but if you can only do one do Magnum

-Magnum's line is non existant at the end of most days, it makes a great finale to your CP day to marathon this ride during the last 30 min.

^^ Man, you are all over the park with that route. For trying to be efficient, that's not very efficient. LOL!

Here's the one word I've found that provides the most efficient way I have ever done CP:

Ready?

Wait for it....

Yeah, I just do whatever when I go, and usually ends up working out great. Obviously I go on Maverick or MF first, but after that it's wherever my feet take me.

Yeah, it's different every time I go... but here's usually the general plan of what I do.

Mantis (because I hate waiting the long afternoon lines for this!)
MF
SRF (if it's hot)
MS
Maverick
Skyhawk
Gemini
Magnum
TTD
PT both sides
Sky Ride
Chaos
WT
Demon Drop 2x (it's a walk-on and too fun to not do twice :P )
DT
Raptor
Blue Streak
then after all that, it's a free for all. Though I do make sure that I get 3 MF laps in every time.

384 MF laps
Smoking Area Drone Pilot

Since I come in from the Magnum gate, our normal route goes something like this:

ERT: Maverick, and if we're lucky, MF
TTD at opening
Magnum
Gemini
Mean Streak
CCMR
Skyhawk
Wildcat
Iron Dragon
Power Tower
Matterhorn
Cedar Downs
Raptor
WT
maXair
DT
Sky Ride
Demon Drop

We usually wait until evening/night to ride MF if we don't get there during ERT, but it's almost always in there somewhere.

I've given up on riding Mantis. That coaster just stinks.

But I don't think amusement park lines are methodical or predictable enough to make an actual plan for. We usually just end up where we end up.

It's called Millennium Force, not "Millenium" Force. Thanks.

I tend to be more spiratic, but what is a def (unless it breaks down) is the Maverick ERT! Then I just usually go by the lines throughout the day. It is nice to mix it up a bit. Some days I see how many rides I can get on a certain ride and other days I have the goal to ride every coaster in the park (except Jr. Gemini & Woodstock Xpress).

I think it is more fun to mix it up a bit. Also, it depends on who you go with.

It's more fun to go when you don't plan out every ride in a certain order.

I have enough schedules to deal with at work.

The last thing I need to do is have schedules for my free time.

Which is another reason I never understood the people who plan out everything for Disney. We made some dinner reservations, and figured out which day we would do which park. But beyond that, we didn't have any kind of schedule.

It was not a route, it was just the rides I would try to hit in a day, being perfect world.

Jugga, the thing about Disney is that it is just so crowded that people dont want to wait in lines. I plan a little more then you because besides what park(s) I will be doing that day and dinner reservations I also carry a print out of the Unofficial Guide's plan with me into the park, however I rarely follow it the whole day and usually adapt it to my taste. However, since fastpass you haven't really needed to follow a plan at a Disney park (outside of common sense, ie go to the big rides and small capacity rides first, then hit up the shows/larger capacity rides midday) so long as you kept on grabbing fastpasses.

I just go on the rides that have the shortest wait ive seen all day.
Yeah cool

Total Maverick rides for the 2007 season = 27

Top 5--- 1. Maverick- 2. Millennium 3. Magnum 4. TTD 5. Gemini

Cavs- 2007 Eastern Conference Champions!.-

I might say no there is no order of rides. But when I go to Cedar Point I can usually go one of a few ways that seem economical.

I will ride Magnum, then walk down to Top Thrill Dragster and just a little further and your down to Power Tower. From there you can choose to head around and up to Mantis / Millennium Force, proceed from that area up to Maverick / Mine Ride / Snare River Falls / Skyhawk / Thunder Canyon or Warewolf Canyon.

Then your in a predicament because you have to walk by all the rides you just rode. But you keep a nice ride filled circle going.

In which case my personal favorite after Power Tower head up to Wicked Twister which is a little walk, MaxAir, and then Raptor. After Raptor we Sky-Ride it back to the back to the middle of the park and continue on towards Millennium Force / Mantis. I have gone Magnum to TTD to PT to WT to Maxair to Raptor to Millennium Force to Maverick to Skyhawk by 3 PM twice this season with front row raptor / Wicked Twister, 2nd or third row Millennium Force. Any row for Top Thrill Dragster. Magnum 3rd to 4th row, and front row Maverick is kind of easy to get I think.
You see my obvious bias towards steel coasters.
I just don't think Gemini is fun, Mean Streak I've never even rode. And the same for Blue Streak. I have Shivering Timbers 30 minutes away.

We have seen proper queue management making the Mavericks front row wait of only 2-4 people. Which is a heck of a lot better then Millennium Force and the front row wait.

Granted by 3 PM to have all those rides done we have walked up to the loading platform on Raptor / WT, Maxair had a one cycle wait,

Well ive been to CP probably 20 times this year and here is the order we ride in,

1) ERT M.F.

2) Maverick

3) Meanstreak

4) Sky Hawk

5) Gemeni

6) Magnum XL 200

7) Top Thrill Dragster

8) Power Tower

9) Wicked Twister

LUNCH BREAK

10) Raptor

11) Mantis

12) M.F.

13) Maverick

and so on until we run out of time

Order of rides is completely "UNNECESSARY". The greatest times spent at CP are those trips when you just walk around ride the rides, but most of all grasp what the park is all about. CP has great thrill rides, but there is so much more to why the place is so special.

2008:Magnum XL-200 | Top Thrill Dragster
2007:Corkscrew | Magnum XL-200 | Maverick

MF 1st, or Mav. Then hit TTD before the 10 am crowd (if you are a Joe Cooler). Then hit the back of the park rides. Later in the day, BS and others get to a short line or walk on. Though this year I have never seen Raptor have a short line later. Years past it was a walk on in the evening. This depends on which day you visit and when. But MF 1st thing is a must. We had 10 rides during a Joe Cool ERT once this past fall within one hour. It was fun!! TTD is hit and miss.
