Orange stake in TC woods

If you stand on the bridge overlooking Thunder Canyon, look into the woods left of the life guard stand. There is an orange stake in there.

The reason I'm bringing this up is because of all the FT markings from earlier this season which included many markings all over TC. I'm very curious as to why that is the only stake that is still ther while all of the other markings seem to be gone.

It could very well be possible that they just forgot to remove that stake, I can't help but wonder though.

I was going to take a picture of it the last time I was in the park, but there were about a million bugs flying all over me once I went up the bridge to get a closer look and I hate those bugs so I ran back down...

Has anyone else seen this orange stake there?

Are there any more stakes in the area? Or did that one just get lost... :)

He probably just got lost. There are no other ones in the area that I was able to see.

Could have something to do with Halloweekends and CornStalkers.

I wouldn't get too excited about this unless you see in the spring of 2012. So far the rumored area that I've heard from different people is that the new roller coaster will go where the turnpike cars currently resides along with Calypso being moved to another spot in the park.

^ That is where I hope it would go. If they were to put it where TC is, say goodbye to all of the trees.

There are many birthmarks around the Antique Cars around that area. Flags on the Trees and Lights too. Many rumors from people that the ride for Cedar Point 2013 in that space, and those cars will be moved up to the Cadillac Cars up front.

^^how long have these marks been there?

And does anyone have any pictures of them?

If not, im going to the park this Friday for HW so ill be able to get some pics.

I know at the beginning of the season there were orange dots and stakes all over the park because they were looking for natural gas lines or something.

That would probably explain the FT markings then.

It's a safe bet that this is nothing more than a survey marker that they forgot to remove.

Remember - just because you see a marker somewhere doesn't mean there's anything going on in that particular location.
