Opening weekend crowds

What are the crowds generally like on opening weekend?

Opening Day is a good size crowd, but I wouldn't say it's Super busy. It's not as busy as say a July Weekend Day. I hope that clarifies it for you. :)

Dont ever go during a Halloweekends saturday. Avoid those at all costs.......that's the only thing you'll ever need to know. Makes a busy summer day look like a May or early June weekday. :)

yea I know but I would think opening weekend would be more packed than usual day at cedar point

I've been there during the week (mon-thurs) after opening weekend and it was almost empty. I haven't been there during this time for 2 or 3 years but I don't see it being a busy time at all. Opening weekend does usually have a crowd though.

That has somewhat changed since they switched to mid-May opening. Same amount of school trips going to the park with two fewer weeks of May operating days. By no means are weekdays in May packed, but they aren't like they used to me when they opened the first weekend in May.

I was surprised about last years 1st Monday compared to 08's. You really hit the nail on the head there Vince about the schools.....I'm surprised I forgot the large amount of school buses there was last opening weekend and how "busy" that Monday turned out to be. Needless to say, I didn't bother wasting my valuable days off work given the circumstances for this years 1st Monday are pretty much the same.
