Opening Day-Season Pass exchange

As a first time season pass holder, I have a few questions. I apologize if this has already been asked. I did search through some pages and didn't see my question(s) so hopefully it's not something I overlooked. Anyway....

My family and I are planning to arrive in the area on Friday the 5th. It won't be until later in the evening, probably around 8:00 or 9:00, so I know the season pass center will be closed by then. What time on Saturday morning should we plan to arrive to exchange our passes?

We want to get there as early as possible to get a place in line so maybe (hopefully) we won't have to do so much waiting when the park officially opens.

What time will they allow you into the parking lot to head up to the season pass center? I was thinking we'd get there around 7:00 or 7:30 but I have no idea if that's realistic to think that would be a good time or not.

Thanks in advacne!

Opening day produces long lines, as seen here. Its best to find some way to avoid picking up your passes opening morning.

I don't know when the line starts to get long or how many people will be in line at 7:00 or 7:30 on opening day, but getting there early might not be a bad idea. At worst, you'll stand there by yourself for a hour or two and enjoy the early morning atmosphere. At best, you'll be first one in and out at 9:00.

The picture linked to above was taken in the afternoon, though it still is long even mid morning. If you're there very early, you should be OK. Of course, the trade-off is that you'll still stand around for an hour. But at least you'll be in the park shortly after opening.

Thanks!

I knew the lines would be bad that morning that's why we figured we'd get there early, really early, but I wasn't sure what time we could actually go up to the season pass center to stand in line.

Yeah, the line is usually just as long in the morning. I wouldn't expect anything shorter than that in mid-morning. But if you get there early, hopefully you can get through quickly.

Where at in Indiana are you (near MI border?). You could always run up to Michigan's Adventure to get your pass. Then you'll have Geauga Lake and avoid that nasty line on opening day.

Any of you think if I sent my season pass sheet out tonight in the mail when I get home, that I can get it back by opening day?

With the cost of gas, this year I'm just going to buy mine a CP. No sense in driving an hour (one way) to a closed park to get what I can at CP when I'm driving there anyway. They are only 5-10 bucks more expensive, anyway.

If you plan on going to Geauga Lake this year, it may make sense to drive to MiAdv for your pass.

That is the debate that I have been having Mr. Scott. If I get it for once at CP, then I can just renew it by mail each year by mail and not have to go anywhere. Plus, when we do go to MA, we take advantage of the season pass perks, something we wouldn't get with a CP pass.

I doubt it. They recommend giving it several weeks.

I know, Jugga. If I were to drive up to MA, it would cost me at least $6 in gas, $5 for the mandatory stop at Ye Old Tavern in Fruitport for a couple of chili dogs and a beer, and no Timbers ride, as the park is not yet open.

If I get a CP pass this year, I get something that I've never had...another keepsake at the end of the year.

Plus I won't have to do that manual signing in thing when entering CP, which, frankly, can be a pain in the butt.

Deal...or no deal?

Deal!

What are the Season Pass lines like the few days after Opening Day?

I will be going on Monday the 8th, should I plan on getting there early or will the line not be too bad?

During the week it should not be too bad.

I think our plan now is to get to Sandusky early enough on Friday and get our season passes exchanged that day. We just don't want to risk standing in line half the morning on opening day wasting valuable park time.

Thanks for the info
