I'd never go on Opening Day. To busy and to wet, May 8 sounds like a good day to me.

Ive always heard the exact opposite about the crowds. Ive never been there opening day (this will be my first), but ive always heard that the crowd is sparse....mostly locals and season pass holders.

The crowds are sparse, the longest line that I waited in on opening day last year was dragster....and it was only a 45 min wait.

The rest of the coasters were almost a walk on.

It differs each year. I've seen everything from a packed park to an empty one.

Yeah, opening day isn't as crowded as some may think. I hear the same thing from people all the time and I just tell them "Well I was there!!":). 2004 and 2005 werent bad at all.

Though I'm betting the opening of a new coaster would bring in a TON of people opening day.:)

Yeah, opening day last year was one of the best days I had ever gone. Waiting times were so short and awesome.

I'm going no matter what. Wouldn't miss it for the world. Although one of the drawbacks of being in a school choir is that you must go to contest. And they couldn't have picked a better day than Opening Day.

Good thing its an early time of 9:20 AM to sing. :)

If it rains, you really won't be seeing a busy day... ;)

Thankfully our Prom fell on Friday, so we "petitioned" to have our performance moved to this past weekend. Good luck at contest though! :)

I will be there rain or shine. When it's supposed to rain it's rare that it rains all day. There are almost always dry periods during the day. I've lost count of the times that we went when it was SUPPOSED to rain and never did. Those are the days for walk-ons.

Im in band an our state contest is Friday thank God. Then I have SAT's on Saturday. I'll be there later rain or shine though.

On May 8 (the first weekday) everything was a walk on along with TTD.
