Opening Day or CoasterMania

Which one is better to go to? I am having trouble deciding which date(s) to go to. Can someone please help me deride which one is better?

They both can be pretty crowded with enthusiasts. CoasterMania is a lot of fun, but don't come expecting to marathon the big ones like Millennium/ Dragster/ Maverick all ERT as lines can get pretty long. I assume you have or would have a club membership for Coastermania? It's (usually) fun meeting others who enjoy your passion of coaster and CP at events. If you have a coaster club membership I would suggest Coastermania, it may have a larger crowd over all but the amount of ERT ride times and social events, it makes for a really fun time.

I have been to both and I would pick opening day. You might run into some downtime because its the first day, but most of the time it isn't too bad. Crowds are at times big, but most of those are band people and they leave around 4 or 5 usually. It was fun last year.

Hmmmmmm.....do I request opening day off.......or coaster mania.....decisions decisions.

Both are good days to go to the park but they both have some downfalls. Opening day has slower operations and has moderate crowds during the day. While coaster mania has moderate/heavy crowds with field trips and many enthusiasts. Coaster mania (if you can spend the two days) has a lot of ert which can be busy but is a lot of fun and if you chose the right ride you can get many rides in. Plus if you come to the really early ert it's usually slim crowds.

CoasterMania for sure. With two days you can spend lots of time in and out of the park. There is so much ERT that you don't need to spend all day in the park. Relax at the beach, float around soak city, or take a nap in your hotel room midday.

Well I guess it depends if you are part of a coaster club. In his posts he never said he was a member of a club. If you are a member then I guess it would be a good idea for coaster mania.

I think Coastermania is by far the better option. You might see slightly larger crowds on the saturday, but when you throw in the absurd amounts of ERT, a few meals, and a few other fun events, it's definitely worth it. Not to mention it's normally much warmer outside by then.

Plus it's full on Mayfly season! ;)

Good choice! The advantage Cmania has is all the food the event comes with. It's not just hotdogs and hamburgers either, it's actually good quality catered food. Plus the event also comes with free refills all day. I'll be honest, Cmania is what has me on the fence on whether or not I'm working there this summer.

What about Sunday? Does the increased attendance from Coastermania carry over?

The real question should be "Holliwood Nights or CoasterMania?" ;)

I prefer Opening Day. I just cannot get up super early as much as I would love to for Coastermania.

We are heading down to kalahari in a few weeks. Any news on when the season pass pffice is going to open?

Should be around mid April like it does every year.
