We'll be at CP in the front of the parking lot tailgating before the gates open. Hopefully the parking lot will open early too. I'm going to bring my grill and a few bevies. Anyone else interested?Let's see it's going to be like 9am-are you planning on grillin some bacon and eggs? ;)
As for the bevies (if you're referring to something other than orange juice, coffee or pop) better listen to Jeff!Jo

You won't be able to use that grill in the parking lot either, safety hazard. So I am sure you meant that you would do all this in the picnic areas on either side of the main gate right?

I never thought about using a George Forman Grill in a vehicle, that is a really good idea if you have a power inverter. Of course it still is probably against park policy to cook anything, steak, fish, people, in the parking lot!------------------

Park policy isn't the issue. It is against state laws to grill using an open flame in the parking lot. I am not sure if a George Foreman would be included in that but I wouldn't think so since the problem is with open flames catching cars on fire, thus igniting the gas and causing a huge problem. Just a thought.

Wait a minute...against state law to grill using an open flame in the parking lot? Not too sure about that one, maybe that is CP's interpretation of the law to avoid hassles in the parking lot but I have seen and used MANY grills with open flames at plenty of tailgate parties at various sporting events in Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati and NEVER has anyone been hassled for this. Now, OPEN CONTAINERS of adult beverages That's another story.OTT

It is a state law, however most places don't enforce it. But then again, CP also pays a ton in insurance and likes to play things safe so they actually enforce it when they can.
I have personally talked to several local (Sandusky, Perkins) and state police officers about it, and they all say that it is illegal, in parking lots that are "in use".
Keep in mind that littering is also against the law too but you always see trash all over the place. Just because you see people do it doesn't mean that it is legal...
