Opening Day complaints...

Alright, MF is an incredible ride no matter what, and I enjoyed it today, but I just HAVE to point out some things that really annoyed me:

First, you will immediately notice something "wrong" with the trains. They are missing the blue stripes with the Millennium Force lettering on the front car. Instead, the front cars are just silver. Incredibly dull. I really hope they fix this one quick (I don't see why they wouldn't), because the difference really jumps out at you.

Second, the yellow train was nowhere to be seen. Not on the track, not on the transfer track, not laying in pieces under the ride, nowhere. I would have at least thought that something would be said on here, but I guess not. Anyone have any idea where it is? The capacity was really behind today without that third train.

Third, the station is missing something. The signature MF station music, along with the female voice, has been replaced. And the stupid thing is that it has been replaced with an extremely dull male voice that you can hardly understand. No music. It's terrible. The station lost all of its tension, its excitement. You don't get anywhere close to the same feeling you did the last 2 years. Since the new voice is recorded, I have a bad feeling that they are keeping it. UGH! It seems like a small thing but it makes a big difference.

Of course there's also the new queue system (FreeWay, which will be explained elsewhere...), the continuing poor job of picking the right touch up paint, and lagging dispatch intervals.

The Force just didn't feel right today. I really hope they fix some of these things SOON. Anyone else agree with me?

I was thinking that they would finally replace the block lettering on the front oof the MF trains with some kind of decal or paint of the "swoosh" on the front. Maybe that's where the yellow train is...

That's really sad to hear about the absense of the MF music and recording. That was what totally creating the exciting atmosphere in the station. Last year they quited the recording, and this year they take it away completely? That's just not right. I love that recording!

I want to drive the Zamboni!

My lawyer now says the autospiel :(Very poor.

The only reason I can take a good guess is it sounds more "legal" and the music would get in the way of the "legality" of the spiel. Still Six Flags has great station music on almost all their coasters.

Unfortunately like the character ride sign they probably wont give us back our music. They don't like atmosphere anymore it seems. So much for people cheering and clapping to the music right before dispatch anymore >:o(.

I agree with all the complaints Majin (one and two will be corrected though :)) The lack of music is a major blow to the feeling of the ride. Vote S:ROS SFNE! that will show them! ;)

The original speil couldn't be heard because it was a high female voice that did nothing but echo in the station. It was pointless.

The stainless steel noses have been replaced with fiberglass. The old logos on the trains sucked and were tacky. My hope is they go with the "flowing M" logo on the replacements.

Now that would be cool... they just need SOMETHING...

yeah, that sux. I'm sure all of us just go to cedar point and wait in line to listen to the cool music and here that sweet female voice, gimmie a break!

Personally, I wait in line to ride the thing!

Hey, I do go there just for that ;).

It's not so much the voice, it's the music. If they could just get the music behind the dudes voice it would still get people pumped up and be able to hear the speil.

Exactly.

Did anyone else resort to singing the music in the station?

If they decide to place logos on the noses, maybe they will actually match the colors to the train colors.

It always bothered me to see the yellow or red car with a blue nose, not to mention the ugly logo! (See: http://www.guidetothepoint.com/gallery/img.asp?img=cp00mfdropthree1.jpg)

If you wonder - why don't you ask someone when you are there?

I was told that the yellow train was in need of an overhaul and was being worked on. It should be returning soon. As far as the train graphics go, they did replace the front train panels and will be placing some nice decal work on them. At the time the decals were still being touched up and cut.

I did miss the music too. The voice didn't bother me not having it, but the music although not extravagant, it helped pull you in to the whole experience. I want to see that return.

As far as the paint touchups on the track go.... Yes that is just sloppy and lazy work IMO. What, did they forget the paint color formula?

More precisely, I was told by Someone Who Ought To Know that the yellow train was nearly complete and should be on the track next week. Hopefully the Millennium Force train assembly went better than the Magnum train assembly!

Yeah I second that.

Glad to hear the yellow train will be back soon. I asked a MF crew member where it was and she told me it was in storage and wouldn't be put on the track until mid June! Next week sounds better and more logical...

I agree Majin! The silver noses look out of place, but Jeff's idea of the flowing M would be outstanding. I'd also like them to say "Cedar Point" someplace on them...

If you're like me and you think Cedar Point should get the B/M Flyer in 2004, give me a "Hell Yeah!"

The did say Cedar Point on them - you can see that here. It always gives me chills to see "Cedar Point" on the front of all the trains (not just for MF, for other rides too). It says - here is another big bad coaster from Cedar Point! :) I agree with pretty much everything said here here. Little things make a difference. I have to say that the new spiel might even be less audible than the old one. And even if you do hear it, the voice puts you to sleep. :)

I agree with everything said here. I believe yellow will return, as well as the logos on the front of the trains. I hope they get it running faster, because there's no way it was running full speed. I think all of those, or at least the first two should be fixed by this weekend.

The thing I really hated was the new speil. I hate the voice, and I hate the lack of the music. Although it didn't make the ride, the music really set a mood in the station, witch you need while waiting for the front seat. Sadly, I don't think it will be brought back, but you never know.

I brought up that I thought they were going to added the "swoosh" with decals or paint...now do you guys think it will be the greenish color or the trains' color?

i think that they whould try to amtch the decal with the train though that is just an opinnion

Don't get this twisted

How interesting. I never even noticed the logo color didn't match the train color. Nor did I notice that there was no logo this year. HOWEVER, the music....that was VERY noticeable. The music really adds to the excitement of the ride. I sure hope they bring it back.

Quite odd about the yellow train. If it needed an overhaul, wouldn't they have planned for it to be ready by May 5th? They had all winter to overhaul it.

Still loved every second of the ride!
