Open once more

FYI, marketing called me this afternoon. The ride was open as of 1:15 p.m.

Just got back from Cedar Point and Millenium Force is truly open. There were a few delays due to some routine maintenance after Millenium Force opened, they needed to replace a sensor.

I rode the front car and noticed the wire rope doesn't go underneath the train anymore. It looks like they may have add some sleds? If I am not mistaken, wire rope would come underneath the train, not anymore. I wonder if this had anything to do with the cable fraying???

No the sleds always came out I think. It looks like the halfway point of the sled line is under the front car.

Yes, the marketing folks called me. Why is that so hard to believe?

The cable never went under the train because it goes through the track at the front of the station. That's why the sled has several links that extend off of it from the point of connection into the station.

I'm glad that CP cares enough to A) let us know about it being up through the forum here, and B) that they read and respect this website and Jeff's efforts.

Yeah it was open yesterday, read all about my trip in the TR section. It was awesome. Not too crowded yesterday either, until people found that MF was open, then the lines started to pile up. I heard that it officially opened at 3. It was running around 1, test runs, while we were on the mine ride, and we headed over, but they closed it down again.

MF opened a little after 10am this morning (gates opened at 9:30am). Still running great. Looks like the entire lift sled track (I-beams on lift) was replaced. Other than that, same old same old.
