I got a non-smoking one for $65 and I have my $30 off a night coupon from the getaway guide that I was very surprised when they told me I could still use it. Can't beat $35 for a room, even if it is in the old section.
This is the type of room I stayed in last weekend for 2 nights. I couldn't complain because of the 35 dollar price, but if it wasn't located on the CP Peninsula, it would never be worth more than 65 dollars. There were NO available electrical outlets other than the bathroom. The room had a generally musty smell to it, and I had to be the first person to stay in the room since I checked in opening day. I had to run the A/C or fan to keep the air circulating to keep the smell at bay. In addition the wallpaper in the bathroom was clearly straight out of the 70s, and the bed was hard as a rock, but luckily I was exhausted enough to sleep in it.
But... 35 dollars is 35 dollars... I was a 2 minute walk from the Resort Gate... I had early entry for 3 days... I won't let my complaining get out of hand.

It's funny you mention ratings. When we stayed at Lighthouse Point last year, I called the front desk to ask for an iron and an ironing board. It seems I caught the woman off-guard because she stammered for a little bit and then was like, "Uh, we don't have any of those." I asked if she could get one from Sandcastle or Breakers and she was like, "Uh, no." ha ha ha ha!! Thankfully my shirts weren't all THAT wrinkled, so I just let it go. But, I was a tad surprised they didn't have simple amenities like an iron.
Problem is (as with everything else at CP) until they start to see problems such as these affect them financially, they won't do much. Sadly, but hey, do you blame them?

I do. Sure it's a business, but you should always strive for the best. That's my problems with many businesses these days. It's only about the money to them. I'm not saying everyone at CP only cares about the bottom line because I know they have employees that love making their guests happy. But, there are ways to have an amazing product AND make money at the same time. You don't have to sacrifice quality for profit.
Don't get me wrong, I love going to CP. But, luckily my parents live close enough that I don't have to stay on property. Last year was an exception because it was a special occasion.
If they offered something that made me WANT to stay on property, that would be a different story. Honestly, that's what they need. Right now they offer just enough for the people that need to stay, but not enough to get people to want to stay.

Pick up your phone and dial.419-627-2106
For many people that's a long-distance call.
Let me avoid a couple arguments: Yes I know most people have "free" long distance on their mobile phones, or a digital/VOIP home phone with "free" long distance, but not everyone. And yes, I know Walt Disney World doesn't have a toll-free reservation number but they have a great website.
There's a new airline here in Columbus, Skybus that doesn't have a call center. Everything is done on-line.
If TTD is down, they post a sign at the entrance before you enter the park. Similiarly, if website has trouble you need to tell your customers, or at least setup a temporary toll-free reservations line.

Wow! We even have an iron and ironing board in our camper. Just ask Josh, he ironed something last weekend with it.
I guess it actually cost me money for him to be the best in that situation. :)

Ride on, MrScott!
The reservation system is still down. I hope it goes back up quick, because I am going this week for 3-4 nights.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Ok,
This is just crazy
I can not book a room online because it is not working, and I have been trying to call and book a room, but the line has been buisy for over an hour now. This is something they need to fix really soon. If I can't book my room by this evening, I am going to have to stay outside the park.

Just show up and get it if you are going anyway. The area has 15+ hotels and 3 have indoor water parks. Well 4 when the other is done. People talk about spending money for this and that and say why cant you update computers on the sites or the parks. That takes alot of time and people because when you have to update or fix the websites it requires down time. And updating the parks ticket system takes time and alot of work with wires and digging and such. This was brought up at a q&a at CoasterMania in 06. Which has gotten to be more of a gripe and whine and cry time to the big shots. Lol. Just a little hint, The Gateway Guide has dollars off certin CP hotels certin days.
