Of course he has to. Now if only more of us thought like him. :)
The thing I like about the two stations, however, is that there isn't any way for people to drag their crap through the line. I still don't understand why anyone would need to drag a backpack around, or what the heck they could actually need during the day at an amusement park in a backpack.
You are right Ben. People getting out of the train was never a bottleneck, but I could see people putting all their junk in bins being a pain! :) So that's one advantage of dual stations! :)
I don't get the backpacks either. If it can't fit in my pocket, it's not coming with me into the park.

I saw a person not get to ride Magnum because they took so long to put stuff in a bin that one of the ops put down their lapbar and buckled their seatbelt. The previous train was just dropping off the lift when he came back to his seat. He seemed a tad annoyed when the ride op (who will remain nameless) said 'tough' :)
That's the way it should be. It's good that the ride op did that because once riders with junk start holding up trains, that's when people get angry.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Gotta love C-setting on Magnum... what a pleasant surprise to come out of the tunnel, and wham!
Happened to me on my last trip...
Ripcord Crew 2002 / MF Crew 2004
I had to do that to some people that were slow (or maybe they were really tall and needed to be a front seat instead of a second or third row), but I always just put them on the next train. I never booted them down the ramp (although I might have liked to! ;))
It seems like if you have one person who is slow getting back to their seat, you could work with it (by skipping that seat and coming back to it), but if there are two or three, you really are in a tough position. I'm amazed those bins aren't causing even more problems than they are. It seems like they are using up more of those lines on the DOR than in past years though (the days when it was blank made me proud). I find myself coming out of the last tunnel and looking to the left to see if the previous train is in the station or still in the readies. Then I know if it's going to be a hard stop. In all my hundreds of rides on Magnum, I have only been stopped in the safeties once. I've been stopped on the lift a handful of times though.
I sort of wish CP would have gone with those "high tech" lockers that give you the first xx minutes or an hour or whatever free and just said no loose articles in the line on any coaster. The bins are obviously cheaper, but they do slow things down - and they create the whole issue of things potentially getting stolen, damaged, etc.

The bins do create a few delays, but I don't find that many people use them as much as you would think.
The whole stolen and damaged thing just backs up what CP's original philosophy was with loose articles. "They aren't responsible" People are stupid for bring the stuff anyway. All you need is a wallet and some pain killers if you plan on riding Mantis. :) Of course, I bring a camera as well, but I made sure mine fits in my pocket very easily when I bought it.
If you have a jacket/sweatshirt, just hold it in line and put it on just before you board the ride. Lockers also work. I don't trust the bins.

Better bring the library of congress with you if you plan on waiting in line for Dragster through the breakdowns. ;)
Ben was the sarcasm pointed at me, because I'm not getting it??
