I apologize for starting a new thread, but I hope one of the administrators will simply move the following message to the "Spelling, grammar, and chat shorthand" thread:
If you use Apple's Safari browser (the other real browser), you already have built-in spell checking. Just go to Edit:Spelling: Check Spelling as You Type, and you will enable a feature that is extremely convenient. Unless I am mistaken, OS X has a built-in spell checker, and it works with not only Safari, but also iChat (yes, I have it check my spelling in IMs), and possibly other applications.
This feature enables me to at least have good spelling in my posts. Now if it only made me less annoying...

You're not mistaken. The spell checker in OS X also shows up in iChat. As in Safari, go to Edit>Spelling and check "Check Spelling as You Type." Just another one of the thousands of reasons why I love my Mac. ^_^ *** Edited 10/17/2004 2:13:12 PM UTC by Lee***
