One month into the season

Just a curious topic for people that have been to the park already ( me not being one of them til Aug :( ). How would you compare the park from the first couple weeks it was open vs. now. Would you say they have all of the bugs worked out?

Yup, the bugs are out. Or do you really mean the rides/ride ops. Everything is new to the o.s. staff when the park first opens and takes some time getting used to. Everything has been very smooth all of this week with the exception of WT.
It's like night and day, the park and the rides are in great form. Did not see a single ride go down yesterday, the only exception being Wicked Twister.

I don't know what these guys are talking about. I have been there 6 times this year, 6-8-02 being last, and the Raptor was down a couple of times that day...my daughter got stuck on it on the brake run. It was shut down before she rode it (she said tons of people left the line), then immediately after she rode it. Mechanically...there are still a few bugs. (but I think you'll always have that!)

Bugs...well, muffleheads are in season right now... the cover the sidewalks and my daughter said they taste like vinegar.

The staff is up to par now... even helped us count out the 15 coasters. My son and I kept counting 13...then a couple of staff (including one in a tie) counted 13 also. He stated "How could we have lost 2 coasters?" ::laugh::...then he remembered the Wild Cat and the Iron Dragon!!! Staff is GREAT!!!

Hope that helps some! Don't go on a Saturday unless you like to people-watch. Lines are their worst on Saturdays. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the best days to go! ::smile:: Have fun when you go!!!!!!!

That was me Laura... hehehe

Glad to have been a help. Sorry it took me a min to figure it out. It had been a busy day at that point.

I know what you mean about Saturdays, but we are going for 5 days and 4 nights (Thurs, Fri, Sat Sun, Mon), so we are never in any kind of rush. We like to take a laid back approach to the park, get in the park as soon as it opens, ride everything that we can, then when it starts to get busy we usually hit the beach or pool, or even go into Soak City. Sometimes we just walk around the park to just let it all soak in. Im sure it is great fun in the beginning of the season when the park is dead, but for some odd reason, the atmosphere just isnt there for me. I must have a few screws loose or something LOL! We go in August pretty much every year, and then again in the beginning of Oct for Halloweekends and have a great time. In my opinion, going for multiple days and staying right on the point is the only way to go.
