My dad knows alot of people who work there and a worker there told him that there going to be making a hotel and water resort..like what Cedar Point is making.
Why, they have a water resort across the bay?
I don't know its just what he told my dad and my dad told me. I think they might take that one out and put more ride there
Why on earth would they take that out when there is plenty of room on the Sea World side for rides. Think about what you are saying.
Ok well anyways i'am and plus Aurora has stupid rules about height restrictions. They can't put some rides in and they probably won't be albe to put something in like MF or TTD and maybe even Mantis because there to high.
As far as I Know the height limit on the former Sea World Side is 35 feet. Not too much to work with. Especially for a building the size of Castaway Bay. Would be a great addition though.
Ignore the screaming in the woods... Everything is Fine! Now is your last chance.... to escape the wrath of.... THE BEAST
Wow thats the height for it i thought it was 100 or less. YEah the I think its going to be like Castaway bay.
Why 35 when across the lake is 180 ft. coasters. Plus, rules are meant to be broken, especially when it means more tax dollars for Aurora.
Aurora won't let them build any rides six flags been trying to build stuff like coasters on that side but Aurora won't let them. Also the other side of the park isn't Aurora some is but not all of it
What part, there are tall coasters all throughout that side. Steel Venom 180 ft on one side and Villian 150 on the other side.
Yeah the lake is apart of Aurora then the rest is the other area

If that is true why does GL have an Aurora address? This is right from their website.
I am a contractor, and work in the greater cleveland area. From speaking with city officials I've been told that Geauga Lake and what was once Sea World, are both in Aurora AND Bainbridge. In addition There are city officials that work in both cities. According to them there are certain ordinances in place that won't allow certain rides to be built on the Sea World side. Something about noise restrictions. Apparently when Six Flags owned the park, they were trying to get the ordanince removed. I'm not sure where it went from there, but as far as I know Six Flags was not successful.
Actually acording to mangement, the height limit is 205 on the Sea World side which is higher then on the rides side, but it was city ordinances, that stopped SF from being able to build something there. However they did have plans to build a hyper beofre they sold the place.
Yes, the park crosses the border and sits in both the City of Aurora and Bainbridge Township. The restrictions imposed on the old marine park apparently date back to the zoning put in place when the park was first built. If I remember correctly, Six Flags was able to get a variance for the very specific purpose of building a roller coaster on that side, but obviously never did it. The variance would likely apply to the land and not the owner (or so it would in the cities I've worked for), but naturally they could have worded it any way they wanted to.

I used to work at the old Sea World in security and the park is in both Aurora and Bainbridge. I also recall Sea World had a contract with then Geauga Lake and later Six Flags that they would not build roller coasters. But I'm sure that is gone now that Sea World is part of Geauga Lake.
I Think that they should add something Like CityWalk At universal. That would be a great way to get the older crowd interested and a great way to get people to spend the night.
Doing a citywalk would be a great addition, however I doubt that people would pay $25 or whatever there night fee is to go to a bunch of resturants and bars. Plus, why would any big name resturants come to Geauga Lake. They are half the fun of citywalk. I do think it would get people to come if their could be some way found to avoid the charge.

Are you confusing that with Pleasure Island at Disney World? Universal's City Walk is a free attraction, like Downtown Disney is, but there may be a cover charge to enter a bar or club. Regardless, I doubt we'll see something like that in Aurora, Ohio.
Cedar Fair owns a choice piece of land there. They'll do with it whatever makes most sense to the bottom line. I know I would.
