What is with the $8.01 for a photo? Why not just $8.00 or $8.50? Why do they have to throw that extra penny in there?
Good question. I really don't know. Anybody on this site want to answer that one

Please wait till the ride comes to a complete
stop!
Uhm... I think the 8.01 is for convienience purposes... with the tax, (although not sure what exactly it is in Ohio) that .01 makes it come out to an even amount, so they're not dulling out change to you, and you're not dulling out change to them.
I think sales tax in Erie County is 6%, so add that to $8.01 and all you need is singles and quarters for change... $8.50.
The real mystery is the 23 mph speed limit!

haha. well once when i was in the raptor line, the ride operator was yelling off his usual riding procedures and stuff, and out of no where he busts out and says, and i quote jeff (that was his name i think) "and after you complete your flight on the raptor, why dont ya go pick up a ride photo for the low price of eight dollars and one cent! oh and hey, no asking what the one cent is for because it's top secret!" gotta love the raptor ride announcers!

Particularly for those of us whose speedometers do not register below 15 mph...

hmmm....I was driving through Oklahoma City once and the speed limit on the highway through the city was 52. What the heck is that all about?
and don't think the campus cops don't know that, RideMan...mine goes as low as 5, but i see people pulled over all the time for doing 15 or 20...just a way to keep tuition prices down???

the real question is...........why the hell are they 8 bucks? thats ludicrist!!!they shuld be $2-$4, not $8!!!!!!i didnt buy one all last season!
And the answer is...because enough people are willing to pay $8.01 for the operation to be profitable. If they raise the price further, say, to $9.00, more people will be like MantisMike and not buy the photos, making the venture unprofitable. If they lower the price, more people will buy, but they might not be able to keep up with the demand.
The only answer to getting lower prices is for more people to refuse to pay outrageous prices for stuff. As long as the peeps will pay, the high prices will stand.

Who didn't buy any $2 bottles of Pepsi at Cedar Point last summer
it was $15.54 dollers for an on ride picture on the tower of terror at MGM.
15.54 dollers
How much is that in American money? :)

I bought one pop when I went last year because I just wanted to feel the kick from a Mt. Dew. I usually just go up to any food stand, ask for an ice water, and go on my way.
Unfortunately, like many Americans, I'll pay whatever when I'm on "vacation," which means I spend a lot of money in the summer. ;)
