I worked in the front midway games in 1989 the year Magnum opened and the line would sometime get up to kiddieland.
Sorry for needing to be clarified but are you talking about Kiddy Kingdom or Jr. Gemini? I am thinking the Junior Gemini Kiddy Section.

^ Kiddy kingdom (Although, I don't think it was kiddy kingdom at the time) at the front of the park. Right by the big Giraffe.
Here is a picture of the queue rails...
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Wow. That must have been hell for the workers to keep everyone in a line. Was that before they had the overflow queue?

Honestly can't remember - I think the wait was >3 hrs when it would get that long, but my memories of that time are all a little hazy.
If you want a queue from hell take a look at this thread . Now that's absolute insanity.
I was there a few weeks ago and the line on a Tuesday was over 2.5 hours just to get into the gates of the area/ land (not even the entrance to the main ride) and started about where the video linked later on in the thread started. And it stayed that way most of the day till after 6pm when people would start to get hungry and give up. I did a little filming myself with my video camera like the guy's video in the thread and I thought it was nuts then... I didn't even see an 1/4 of what the guy in the thread got on camera.
I take that back, now that's a long line! I don't even know what is the Harry Potter ride?
Found a video on youtube from back in 1990, there's many clips of the Magnum in it, at 0:11, 0:17, 2:46, and a look at the line at 4:59, all you see is people. :)

Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"
^I remember watching that when it aired. Funny to see the King Cobra held up as a paragon of new technology!
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

those IOA people should have brought tents, gas lamps, sleeping bags, food, video games for extra entertainment, and PJ's. besides the umbrellas they already brought.......:)
I remember waiting in those aux. queue rails in 1998. It was def. that year because It was right after I rode Power Tower for the first time. It was a Saturday in June (It was Whirlpool Day, so the park was ABSOLUTELY PACKED!) And I swore I would never go for Whirlpool Day again, free tickets or not!
