Old Pictures

This seems like a long shot, but does anyone know where I can find some older pictures of the park like say 1989 or earlier photos of areas such as the old cable cars that hung threw Frontier Town? Or areas around where Mean Streak now stands? Also does anyone have photos of themeing of the Paddlewheel Excursions not just of the boats or station, but the actual themeing along the lagoon?

I have a bunch of pictures from Virtual Midway. I know Jeff had some as well. We'll see what we can do about putting some up in the gallery.

I, like many others am anxiously awaiting an extensive history section of old photos, videos, memories, etc. Much like Walt's Virtualmidway.com history section. I'd also love to see some old commericals on there somewhere.

The Amazement Park

I agree. I love seeing how CP and other parks looked before all of their huge, new rides.

Coaster Count: 147

Virtualmidway.com was a golden gem when I first came across it.

I miss the old park photos as well. Can't wait until you guys get them up again!

I've got some from much earlier, but one in particular shows Corkscrew, the Western Cruise area and the Frontier lift:

That's a good collection, thanks OldCPer. That's what I'm curious to see more of... the 60's-70''s.

The Amazement Park

Yeah, those pics are really cool to look at. The area over by the corkscrew looks really different.

#12 is a great shot of pre-Magnum.

It's funny, I've been going to Cedar Point since 1990ish and I've never noticed the trees disappearing until looking at these photos.

These pictures make me wish I could have gone more as a child. I came from a non-coaster family. It's not something I'm proud of. I tried my best to remember what it looked like what I did attend though but I'm having a hard time. Not really sure if that is because I didn't pay much attention to my surroundings, or if it's because I've spent so much time there in the past few years that it kind of pushed the old ideas of the park out.

Either way, anyone got a DeLorean we can retrofit with my flux capacitor?

This picture, the roller coaster has been moved to my town, and is now being used at a small park here

It's funny how nice and better looking wood is on a new wooden coaster.

What a great quote. :) I don't know why this just made me smile, but it does.
