Just read this new blog from Tony on CP's webpage:
https://www.cedarpoint.com/blog-article/online-fun/Ill-let-this-slide
and it got me thinking. How many people on here or their parents/grandparents own old CP photos/ especially old Kodak photo slides that are collecting dust? ( some younger kids probably have never seen them!).
I have about thirty CP slides from the 60's/70's that I need to convert over into 8x10s or digital. Does this cost alot to do? Anyone have any experience with this? BTW, I'd be interested in buying any old pics/slides if anyone is looking for some extra holiday cash(message me).
What slides do you have? The cost to convert, anyone??
Doing it yourself doesn't strike me as a good use of anyone's time, but there are services out there than can do it for you. A friend of mine sent a combination of slides and medium format film to Scan Cafe and was thrilled with the results. Yes, you're shipping to California who in turn ships to India, but the pricing is pretty fair.

I haven't been following much CP news this off season, but the blog also mentions the new Lakeside Dining Room. I hadn't heard of this yet. Sounds like a new restaurant right? Is this the first time it was mentioned or does anyone else have more info?
I believe it was mentioned a while back, but I may be wrong.

That only mentions Lakeside Pavilion, which is the outdoor dining area. Lakeside Dining Room is the area inside of what at least used to be the convention center. I don't believe they had previously mentioned a new name for this interior space.
Some home/consumer scanners have the ability to scan color slides and negatives to digital. I picked up a unit to scan all my 35mm negatives. Most of my pre-2001 negatives of CP and GL have been converted. Any dust, dirt, scratch becomes a part of the digital. Software allows for enhancements.

I don't recall anything said about renovations to the inside of the Grand Pavilion but if they are indeed doing some work it is positive. The inside of CP needs more meeting and convention space than what is inside the hotels.

I'm hoping the Grand Pavillion is on the list of rehabs. It was an amazing place back in the day. It has been so butchered and remodeled that it would be difficult. The original structure is still there. It was a real showplace. I could see it restored to its previous beauty and used as a fancy restaurant.

Doing something to restore the remaining external look would be nice. Right now it looks rather drab with the shell and paint covering most of it. Much like the Colusiem.
