Hey, I thought it'd be neat to find some old sketches, renderings, advertisements, and press releases of older additions to Cedar Point. If anybody has anything relating to this, please don't hesitate to post it. I think it will turn into a fun and interesting topic!
Here are some old PR photos for Demon Drop:

And there some old press releases, newspaper ads, and such for White Water Landing here:
$11.95 for admission to CP in 1982? Wow!
I love all the 1980s garb in the Demon Drop photos. Totally classic.
Does anyone know where they took WWL? Did it end up going to another park?
Those pics are nice; thanks. It is kind of sad seeing what was once a nice family ride being removed to accomodate another (unneeded) roller coaster.
Also, I think I vaguely remember hearing something about 2 canoes crashing at the bottom of the hill at some point during WWL's life. I am pretty sure it made the news. Anyone remember anything like that?
Yes, 11.95 for admission. Those were the good old days, eh?
I remember wayyyy back when Friday nights used to be "Date Night"....it used to be 2 for $7.50!!!!
Times have sure changed.

Check out the "removal" album. They demolished the entire ride. It didn't go anywhere but the dump.
While it's sad they removed the only remaining flume they had that doesn't drench people, I think Maverick was a great addition to the park. We go for the coasters, and I'm glad they keep adding more. I have faith that the park will install another flume sometime soon.
Three canoes on WWL collided at the base of the drop where the chutes merge. I believe this happened in 2002 sometime. I don't think anyone was seriously injured.

And, at the time, employees only made $3.30 an hour with room costing 25 cents per hour. End of season bonus was only 25 cents an hour.

I have a bunch of Press releases, but that's one thing I havn't gotten around to scanning yet. I have tons of old brochures and park guides though.
