A question for those who've been to the park already: Is the best route from the East still on Ohio 2? I know that there are parts of Rt. 2 that are under construction. Is it enough to make it worthwhile to get off the Turnpike at 250 instead of the Elyria exit?
Thanks for the info...

i heard rt 2 was down to one lane,i myself am from michigan and will be taking the turnpike to 250...
I travel route 2 on my way home from Six Flags Ohio and Saturday, and the only problem I can see for people comming from Clevleand is only for about a half mile before the Rye Beach exit is it down to one lane. No big deal as far as that goes, if you get off an exit after the Rye Beach, then your talking miles of it. For those going to CP from Toledo, there is a good strech of route 2 that you cant use at all, and you have to take back roads if you know them, so if your coming from Toledo, I suggest alternate route!

The more you ride it, the more you want it!

Darla is right. The construction isn't significant enough to worry about when coming in by SR 2 westbound to Rye Beach Rd.

If it's single lane for only a half mile east of Rye Beach Rd., I'm in business. I looked on the Ohio DOT website, and it was a little vague on how far east it went.
Thanks, guys.

I use it nearly every day, and have had minimal problems, but you must pay attention to where those orange barrels are when you arecoming home. I couldn't tell you how many close calls I've had since they've put them up. People around here don't react well to traffic, especially before the season starts. You'll have locals passing you rudely if you don't go "fast" enough where the construction is taking place on Route 2.
