Ohio Schools

Sorry if this has been asked before, I looked and did'ent see it anyplace, also I checked on the net and had no luck. What I was wondering is when to the kids in Ohio go back to school? I'm from Canada and the go back in early September, but for some reason I have in my head that the kids in Ohio go back earlier. Is it all in my head or have I actually heard that somewhere?

Schools in the Midwest generally are back in session anywhere between the 3rd week in August to just after the U.S. Labor Day holiday.

A better judge of potential crowd size is the park's operating schedule. By the end of August, the park closes at 8pm during the week.

I go back on the 30th of August and my little brother goes back on the 24th. Im in the Midwest (Toledo, Oh) but thats when the city of Toledo goes back as far as I know.

I think a good portion of Monroe County goes back the 24th.

School districts in Ohio set their calendars independently of each other. To find out when school starts, you'll need to query each one individually.

According to a quick 'Net search, there are 612 school districts in Ohio's 88 counties. Have fun checking them all!

Thanks alot guys. We are going to make it up to the Point on the 23rd or 24th we have'ent really decided yet. Anyone else plan on visiting either of those day's? As Walt said they close on both of those days at 8pm so I'm hoping that is a direct reflection of what the crouds will be like as he pointed out, I'm sure he would know best. We usually make it to the Point three or four times a year, but were unable to this year because of a number of reasons so I hope we have a good day on our single trip of the year. I really think you're going a tad too early to miss the back to school crowd.

It's not really a choice of mine, I have to go when I can way too much stuff going on, I actually did'ent think I was going to be able to make it at all. Either way we will just make the best of it, I have never been to Cedar Point and left disappointed no matter how busy it was, a ride or two on Magnum and im happy. I was just curious as to when they went back, wishful thinking I guess. Also we usually get there early enough that we get alot of stuff in during the first few hours and take our time the rest of the day.
