Oh no... NOT my Magnum?!

I cannot believe Magnum is really getting a new paint scheme. I am saddened by that fact. I know it needed repainted, but I really think the red and silver should remain.

We don't need another green coaster! They should repaint it dark gray and gray like that new coaster in Japan.

But of course magnum will be sold to china because it is sinking into lake Erie before it gets a new color scheme.

Maggie really deserves a paint job. I was noticing just how bad the supports look in addition to the track while I was riding up the lift and looking down on them this past weekend.

On the bright side, the ride was running really well. Maybe a little slow as the trims were probably barely necessary, but smoother than I've experienced at any point this year. Last train of the season I was in 5-3 and with no trims, it was probably the best ride I've had this season! It was good to see many of the people I got to know a bit last year showing up for the last train of the season on one of the greatest steel coasters of all time! :)

Millie is not getting painted... and since my last post, someone did set me straight on Maggie... Mantis and WildCat for sure... but it looks like a strong possibility for Maggie.

Magnum really needs...i hope they paint it the same colors. But, i'm amazed how the MF faded out in such a short time....its like a faded violet now in places where its exposed to the sun.

This will settle (hopefully!!) that Magnum's true color is red. I mean orange, no its red-orange, no its faded...

In my opinion, Magnum does not need a paint job, it's track color has faded evenly over time and it looks like that's what how it's supposed to look. Millennium Force and Mantis have random patches of paint faded, or missing which just makes it look really bad.

The benefits of painting a coaster don't simply extend to the physical aspect. I'm sure part of their desire to paint the ride is to add a new layer of rust protection to the steel.

Magnum was red, but had that shade to it that would cause it to fade to orange... but who cares? It just needs touched up or repainted to get rid of the rust. I don't care if it is red, red-orange, or orange... just do something with it.

Ok! Every coaster needs a paint-job! Who cares! Is the thrill different either way?! If it is, just ride them @ night, where colors don't matter.

and Raptor too.

It doesn't make the thrill any different, but does sleeping in your bed make it any different if you have pairs of dirty underware all over your floor. I doubt it does, but you want it to look good anyways. Same applies for a world class coaster I suppose

Paint added to the rails could make for a faster ride because of less friction as it did with Raptor. This is what I'm looking forward to in Mantis as well. MMM...red rails...
