off season question

hey ive been planning on going to cedar point during the off season to take some pictures of the rides and such.....can anyone tell me how close i can get to the park and/or the best place to take pictures of dragster, millennium force etc.
You can generally get to about the toll booth and that's it.

You can get a little closer if you're going to Bay Harbor but you're not supposed to go any further and CP Police do monitor the road and parking lots.

You probably won't get very close to make most pictures worth it.

Battery Park is a nice spot to get a view of the entire peninsula.

You'll see exactly where to go. We did drive around to other places, but, the best & closest view is by going on Cedar Point Dr (right by Laje Erie) you wind up on the other side of the toll booth & at the back of the parking lot.

I don't know if it's Battery Park or not, but, there's a park right on Lake Erie, not too far from the park, where you can get a great view of Millennium from the side with Dragster behind it. It really gives you a good perspective of the height difference between the 2 rides. The back of the parking lot is the best view though.

I was able to go around perimeter road. Your not allowed to sneak in or anything, though. Too bad. ;)

The big hill, the sheer drop, the incredible speed. Long live Millennium Force!

MF310...You actually went around Perimiter Rd? Did you have to get permission? Did anybody say anything to you at all? I bet that gave you some great views. Did you get any pictures?
When I went out the weekend they topped of Dragster to see it in person, the guard at the causeway booth gladly let me right on through but just told me to turn around somewhere in the parking lot. It probably depends on whether or not you get a guard who doesn't like his job.

If you drive out Cedar Point Rd, when you get to the stop sign at Perimeter Rd, just turn right! But you have to chance it to get close for pictures.

I got closer than Perimeter Road on friday... I got to the north Skyride station... Of course, I had an appointment at Park Ops to get my season pass processed early (going to Knott's in two weeks and I lost my 2002 pass) and they told me to go in the marina gate to get there.

I am the only person I know of, though, who has thrown a snowball at somebody while inside the park. :)

By the way, the people in the Park Ops. office are really nice people. You should be sure to stop in and say "thank you" for something. They mentioned that the only guests they get in their office during the season are irate, complaining ones and would love to get some compliments during the midst of the season.

I went to Cedar Point and the guard at the toll booth was nice and let me into the parking lot to take some pics and was even nice enough to give me some Cedar Point brochures.
