Oceana Entrance

Sorry if this has already been touched upon... I was just wondering if what used to be the Oceana entrance for resort guests will still be in use this season... If so, would you agree that it will be the best way to get to Wicked Twister opening morning if we are staying at the Breakers? Thanks for your help! :)

Yeah, they will still be using the Oceana Entrance this season. You can use it to get to Wicked Twister.

Hmmm... will they let JCC members in the Oceana Entrance on Opening Day?

Now that a topic like this has been started I'll go ahead and ask my ultra-stupid questions that I've been dying to ask: I have heard of people going through the Marina Gate to get a head-start on running for MF, is there any particular trick to getting into the Marina Gate? Do you just park in the regular parking lot and walk down there after parking or do you have to park somewhere else? I'm probably reading way too heavily into this but hey, I'm very new to CP and I don't know my way around the park or all the "shortcuts". (I guess that's why these questions seem so ultra-stupid huh?)

There Are No Stupid Questions!

I think you go down the road a tinge and you see a sign that says Marina Parking and park there. Help me out here people.

No, you can't park in the marina lot very easily at all. You have to park up front with everyone else and then walk over to the marina gate. You CAN drive around perimiter road and park back in the Soak City lot and enter through the gate back there. That is a shortcut to the back of the park, but probably the furthest gate from MF and WT.

Yeah, last year on closing day, I thought I'd really be all smooth and try to park in the Marina Lot, well, this elderly gentleman that was at the booth promptly told me that I couldn't park there. I felt like a total goober too! :) So basically you just park where everyone else normally does and you hoof-it on down to the Marina Gate then. Sounds like a plan to me. :) I'm guessing by looking at the map, that it's substantially closer to MF.

the difference is that you walk to the marina gate from the lot and run from there unlike running for the front

Last year we had breakfast at the Boathouse restaurant and then were able to park on the right side of the main lot for going to the Marina Gate. We were only given a pass for the marina lot for 2 hours (enough time to eat) and then we had to move to the main lot. There was a line to get in, but it wasn't anywhere as long as the main gates. And it is a much shorter run to MF once you are in.
Yeah the Marina Lot is very limited - they have to allow space for those using the Marina and eating at the Boathouse. If they started letting normal people park there, word would spread quickly and many problems would be created. So yes, just park in the main lot and walk down to the Marina Entrance. If you walk with a decent pace it's only about 5 or 10 minutes to get there.

Back to my question, does anyone know if they let JCC members in the Oceana Gate?
