Number of Rides in a Day

I finally got my email to work so I am now able to post on the site! I have been following everything on Cedar Point for a long time now and I am finally going this Tuesday for the first time. The problem is I am only staying for one entire day at the park. How many of the rides and coasters have you guys gotten on in one day? I know it varies from person to person but I was hoping I would be able to hit all of the main coasters and then even get some re-rides in. I won't be getting in line for dragster though until mid-day if its open since it rarely opens with the park. Also, is there any good plan of action of the order you should hit the coasters in? Sorry if this was a topic spoken about before but I do not recall seeing one like this before.
Save Dragster for last and do the rest first. Time spent in line is a waste of time, which one can't afford while on Point for only 1 day. There is enough other stuff to do before TTD.

you'll have no problem hitting all the major coasters, then going back for re-rides, usally i leave the park about 5-6 and go back home becasue ive none everything, and im kinda bored by then.
One day? That sucks man, but make the best out of it. Try and ride durring lounch while most are eating and like someone else said, save TTD for last.

Thanks everyone, your replies are greatly appreciated, keep them rolling in. Need the best tips I can get! Yeah I was planning on doing TTD towards the end but I wanted a ride in daylight. I think I will definitely use one of my freeway passes for Millenium. Should I use the other for Raptor or Mantis. I want to use them for the rides with the longest lines.
Best bet is to do all the other coasters, before you hit the big ones. The hour before close the lines shorten significantly. I've lost count of how many times I've done Raptor six times in a row with only a ten minute wait max just before close. Millennium even gets down to half a hour or less. Don't hesitate to ask the ride operator at the entrance if the time posted is actually accurate. I've seen 45 minutes posted at Millennium before, and infact it was 20 minutes.

What worked for me Memorial Day weekend, when we got to ride every coaster except Junior Gemini in 1 day (well, 1+, considering we didn't get to ride Dragster until anout 1 AM, when we got in line around close):

Enter the park via the Resort/Soak City gate, and start with Magnum XL-200. From there, work your way around to Gemini (and Woodstock Express if you want), and Frontiertown, to get on Mean Streak and Cedar Creek Mine Ride. You should hopefully be done with all those rides by 11. Get to MilF! (MF) by 11:00, and get your freeway stamp. Then hurry to get to Mantis to get your other stamp. These two rides generally have the longest waits. If lines are short, ride the two then, or move on and wait until you freeway time if they aren't.

Then head to the Million Dollar Midway, and ride Iron Dragon, Wildcat, and head over towards the main midway. From there, just play it by ear. That worked for us, and is now a part of SCPP(tm).

i started a topic just like this one a while ago, there are a lot of good responses to the point that now i know the exact order of what i'm going to ride stuff. http://www.guidetothepoint.com/cpplace.aspx?mode=thread&TopicID=12549

I've got a disease, and the only prescription is more cowbell.

I've heard the park opens at 9 and will have people wait right before corkscrew and at 9:30 they let people start to get in line for ttd, is this true? Since I've heard of 3-5 hour waitss for people who just get there at a half hour after the park opens. I'm also going there for one day and will probably hit ttd, mf, mantis, power tower, raptor, wicked twister, disastor tranport, magnum, then the water rides like snake river and thunder canyon and the rest of the rides as I go along, I'm going on aug 6th since I've heard wednesday is not as busy.

The Jokes on You HA HA HA!!!

get the free way for Millenium Force and Mantis, Raptor is usually walk on, and its a waste of time because usually the longest line after 5 starts at the freeway merge point
------------------
TTD: 2 (Rollbacks seen: 1)
MF: 18
WT: 8
Usually at CP: every mon, tuesday, thursday
jokercoaster: raptor is too soon. you need to give people time to go migrate to the back of the park. same thing goes for wt and dt. plus when you are at power tower you are close to magnum anyway so if you cancel out those rides i mentioned at the beginning then you will have a shorter walk along with a wait that's not that bad.

Guess what? I got a fever! And the only prescription... is more cowbell!
