Noise....

I have heard no mention of the noise being created by WT. How loud is it and will this noise add or hurt the area surroounding it?

I don't doubt it sounds like the other Impulses or Volcano. The initial launch makes great noises, but the subsequent passes sound more like "wheel roar" than, the launch.

Forget about the surrounding area. What about the riders on the left side of the train? Based on the other Intamin launched inverteds, those LIMS are loud during initial launch. What is it going to be like on WT with the concrete walled control room immediately to the left side of the launch??

The poor ride ops will have no hearing left by the end of the season!

Maybe they could put some sort of acoustic damping boards up? At the Gund and some concert halls they have piece's of particle boards up on the concrete wall's. Instead of the sound waves hitting the wall and bouncing all over the place they are absorbed.

Just a question, anyone know if the ride-ops will be allowed to wear ear-plugs during the luanch?

"Wheres the Callahan factory?!?!?"

If they are allowed to wear ear plugs, I'm not sure if it will make the ride look very good to the GP.

The roof is something I immediately wondered about too. I sure hope they intend to put something in that station, because it's going to be like yelling into one of those big drainage pipes when you're a kid.

I thought the motto was Break the Scream Barrier, not Break the Sound Barrier ;)

Hey, I love the sound an impulse makes...

Sure impulse coasters sound cool, but I can't imagine working on one all day. Of course, I've grown far less tolerant of noise than when I was younger...
I hope they do something for the sake of our ears. I talked with someone who worked V2, he said it was pretty bad there. I'll stock up on Tyelnol now...

Well my only experience of LIMS is V2 at SFGAm, and I have to say I'm happy to not be on the WT crew. I know it may not bother some folks, but to me, it would be a pain standing on that platform all day.
