no star spangled banner??

Was it just me or did they not play the ssb or "proud to be an american" when they opend the gates on sunday? I thaought that was kinda weird, because they always play this right before the gates open.

I was at the Resort Gate and they played the Star Spangled Banner...

Really??? I was at the main gate and dident hear it. Thats weird.

Now I didn't actually hear it, but we did "sing" it in the tunnel just before running of the bulls!!

Yeah, we sung it.. but I didn't know it was acctually played. haha, After that we had a nice sprint to TTD.

yea i was there and we did sing it in the tunnel in the challenge park enterence, the security guards didnt seem to amused by it ,and still refused to let us in after we sang it...

If you were at the main gate, how could you not hear it? The Ohio State band played it. You'd have to have a serious hearing impairment, as their brass section was impressively large

I was in the tunnel by the magnum... So never did get a chance to hear the band... Oh well, got to one of the best coasters I've ever rode.

Yes, I too did participate in the singing in the tunnel at the Magnum entrance. We sounded like an out of tune Men`s Tenor Choir. ;)

Thanks for the correction, it was another song I was thinking of, while it is a good song, they really need to change the soundtrack, I kinda like the jazz by Wicked Twister, that way, you can't memorize the words....

The OSU band played it again shortly after 1:00 that afternoon. It was quite impressive even though it was just the Spring Band. We listened to them for a little bit while we ate and then went riding. We didn't follow them around much. BTW, does anyone know if they sang "I don't give a d@mn for the whole state of Michigan"? :-))

Top Thrill- I'm just a little out of the picture on the right hand side.

It was actually two of my friends that I was with that started the singing of the national anthem. They lead in, then eveyone else joined them. I think there was music playing, but I would have to ask them if they heard it before they started singing.

Haha, that was you guys? Were you with the people standing in front of me in line? (When I came up to the gate, I did a little hop, skip and a jump because I wasn't the first, and then someone said, "Um, uh, oh yeah...Haha!") or did you guys come after us. If you were with that group, Scooter was in front of you guys - the first guy in line. :)
