No Remodling

Hey Gang,
Has Anyone else heard that the remodling of the MAIN MIDWAY will NOT take place in 2001? This is because the Park Officials fear they will not be day before Opening Day 2001.

Thanks.
Mikey :)
I haven't heard this rumour and I don't really see how not finshing it in time would be an issue. Who even knows how much remodeling is going to take place? The info I saw only mentioned the dancing water fountains. They got Millennium Force done on time, playing around with the midway is a small project in comparison!
Its true. Its true. It was reported on my site yesterday.

I was really looking forward seeing the fountains. :(

Hmmm... recently the idea of CP adding a wildmouse coaster or Arrowbatic as a "filler ride" has been discussed in these threads because they are cheap and can be built quickly and would maintain CP's coaster record. Could ditching the remodeling be a step towards these?

...and, they have never been built in another park, so I seriously doubt CP getting one.
Wild mice, or the ArrowBatic?
CP can build a 310 ft coaster, but not a fountian? Something is not right here. Has CP ever done a "suprise" project? It would be sweet if on May 6th a new coaster would be there. But that will not happen.

A 'suprise' coaster? If they did build one, it would have to be kinda small for most people not to notice. A small wooden twister would be perfect. Mabey something like the old CP Cyclone? ;)

This HAS TO BE UNTRUE, the midways in the area around Millennium Force were laid 2 days before the parks opening last season. They can and ARE going to redo the Main Midway
CP4ever, this is VERY true. I heard it from the same source that Dan did. The fountain is definitely a no go.

Yeah, I was amazed at how fast the Millennium Force area was finished, seems like it was just weeks before opening and it was still littered with construction debris. How elaborate were these aborted fountains supposed to be?
I will find out for sure, Ihave to call my area manager today anyways and I will ask him. It just does not sound logical, how can they build the world's largest rollercoaster in the off season, but not a few fountains??? Also Joe you should have seen it a days before the park opened!!!
Maybe they just bowed to the overwhelming public pressure for them to keep the damn waterball...

ACK! Get rid of the waterball. And if peeps are that attached move it to a new location. I was looking very much forward to the remodling. Maybe if places are pushed back things will look better. Perhaps some trees up front. That place looks like a parking lot w/ a sky lift and flower beds down it!

I also heard the remodeling was not going to happen, but I'm happy about it. I would hate to see the midway changed. I don't like dancing or jumping fountains. They are just a fad! The water ball is unique and needs to stay. The Midway is part of the charm of CP. The mixture of history and technology. Just my opinion.
