That’s what souvenir cups are for, no flask needed.

Even folks with the disposable income to get drunk off $10 beers don’t like to be fleeced. You raise the price to much and people will just bring their alcohol in disposable flasks.
How is that any different from not selling booze at all, or reducing the number of places it can be purchased?
The point isn't to eliminate drinking. It's to reduce it to the point that it's not a problem. Sure, shutting down most of the stands selling booze accomplishes that, but that also reduces revenue.
Instead, why not boost booze prices during these events? Sure, you'll price some folks out (which is part of the goal), but you'll make up in margin what you loose in volume, and probably then some.

I didn't realize this was the policy last year when I went for a Haunt Saturday. Spent the morning through early afternoon in the park. Left to get some food and rest at our hotel for a bit, came back about 7 pm, and ultimately ended up paying for admission a second time... I don't have a problem with the policy, but somehow I managed to miss it entirely and had gone in and out of the park and I do believe they had to have it posted somewhere.
I also don't have a problem with them limiting or even stopping alcohol sales if they feel like it causes them enough of a problem that they don't want to deal with it. That said, CP's policies for these things are definitely better.
It could be a liability issue. If too many people were getting intoxicated and an innocent bystander gets hurt as a result of someone being intoxicated, they may have a lawsuit on their hands. Their lawyers may have been the ones that set the policy.

^Then you’d think they’d ban the line skipping teenagers that are more of a fight causing liability that tends to plague the parks closer to large cities.

Contrast that with HHN at Universal, where you can't go 20 feet without an opportunity to buy alcohol...
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

This is exactly why I do have a problem with policies like this. Unless they announce to people as they enter the park that there will be no reentry today after a specific hour it's too easy for people to not be aware and end up in a situation like this. Charging someone to enter the park twice in one day because they tried to reenter at 7pm instead of 6pm isn't good business. If I hadn't seen this thread it would never occur to me that reentry policy would be different for a park just because it was HalloWeekends since to me it's just a continuation of the season with spooky theming and extra attractions.
^And they may have even told me and it didn't compute. They should probably do more to make sure people know...but...the public, you know? You're always going to have people who miss it entirely or don't understand. But yeah, it seems like a weird policy as the park is open the entire time, unlike Carowinds where they shut down and have a separate ticket event.
I visited the park for 3 different weekends this Halloweekends, exited the park multiple times, and had no problems re-entering after 7pm.
Is KIs event also called Halloweekends? That's why I assumed it was about CP.
To answer your question, I visited KI twice this fall, but never encountered this.
Halloweekends is a CP exclusive term, although I think they may be phasing it out. Haunt is the term for other parks and now CP calls theirs Haunt at Halloweekends, which I think means they could be phasing out the term to match with the other parks in the chain.

Cedar Point is keeping HalloWeekends but also uses Great Pumpkin and HAUNT to distinguish family friendly daytime attractions vs the scarier version of the park when the sun goes down like the rest of the Cedar Fair parks. HalloWeekends is more the CP specific name of the season, like Scarowinds, ValleySCARE!, or Knott’s Scary Farm.
On that note, what could the other parks use for their not-named Halloween events?

As for the no re-entry... Is this new at Kings Island? Dorney Park had that policy the last 2 years that we went... And they were very up front about it. If you went to leave they would stop you, make eye contact, and tell you there was no re-entry after 7pm. If it was 3 in the afternoon they would stamp your hand (no multiple pass scans per day there) and tell you it wouldn’t get you back in the park after 7pm. Not to mention signs over every entrance and exit gate, and a reminder on the park maps.
