i heard that on the top hat you don't get very much airtime, is that true?(i haven't rode top thrill dragster yet so i have no idea if it is) if it doesn't i think that cedar point should use more of the horse power and make it go over faster to get some air time, it seems like it'd be amazing to get airtime that high above everything sorry if this is a dumb question i just want to know before i ride it this year so i'm not let down
The biggest pop of airtime I got on it was one night early in the 2003 season when they had yet to install seats to replace the spoiler and tires. The difference in not having the weight in the back and the fact that it hadn't broken down in several hours made for a very fast vault over the top. I have a feeling that it was the kind of awesome ejector air people say Xcelerator dishes out. I was quite surprised by it since I hadn't felt it on my prior rides...or since then, for that matter. :(
If I'm not going to get a roll-back, I want it to run like that again.

Xcelerator does dish out some nice ejector, but you get air all the way down as well. The 270 degree turn kills everything on Dragster. The 90 degree turn is much better at raising you right out of your seat. As soon as you crest the tophat your butt won't touch the seat until you're down getting your picture taken. :)

The trains also had only 4 cars in the beginning.....or is that what you meant.
I mean it makes sense since it would weigh allot less with only 4 cars instead of 5. Although even when they did take the spoilers off (:(), and had the last car with only 2 seats, it still went over the top hat at speeds that caused a small amount of airtime. I remember feeling that small airtime when I rode Dragster when it only had the 16 seated trains.
So yes I have felt air on Dragster....just not since May 29th, 2003.:) It still has it's moments of airtime.
At least Dragster doesn't have brakes at the top that would kill any chance of airtime.;) *** Edited 7/11/2005 6:38:50 AM UTC by TTD 120mph***

After the launch and going up 420 feet the last thing on my mind is airtime.
Yeah, even after 10-12 rides this is still my opinion. That launch is just so intense, sometimes I barely get time for my sweet view of MF before goin back over (equally intense).
