Night Stop on Twister 7-23-05

Hey. I was riding Twister this weekend and on Friday night we got onto the ride and took off. I noticed that we werent going very fast, and that above the seat, it was really warm. (I dont know if the heat has anything to do with this or not but thought it was different.) We took off and went up the spike and as we were comming back down we slowed down and we stopped. A ride op came out and asked if everything was allright, I asked him what happened and he said it was "Mechanical" and thats all he would say. After a few mins we were pulled back and they did a test run and we got on to ride.

I think the next day Twister was down but I dont know what caused it.

That was the funniest thing I've seen in awhile, scrolling down after the first post only to see: I caused it:).

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

Yea, we rode it Thursday and felt that same heat wave when we came back into the station. They also emptied out the train and did a test run before we got on it. We were wondering about that heat coming from it.

I was there Saturday night. I watched it while in line for maXair. It was open earlier but at about 7, it was closed down. I watched them do test runs on it. What I saw was a little bit weird. They had to E-stop it. It launched forwards, then backwards. All was well until it was time to accelerate to 72 mph. It got to the end of the straightaway and then slowed way down and didnt even make it to the twist. When it came back down, it stopped over the sand. It was there for a while too. Apparently it's not too healthy yet.

The heat is from the blower fans above the track, which is why it's so hot under the train. The LIM's have a forced-air cooling system. Because of the auto-spiel, it's hard to notice the fans unless you're in the station when the crew restarts the ride for whatever reason (mechanical, weather, etc). The silence in the station when the ride is off is unusual, calm, and eerie-like.

You'll hear *beep beep beep beep* (fans start and beeping continues for a bit), then the auto-spiel comes on.
