I have thought of the next million dollar idea for the park. This may sound idiotic but I think CP should get rid of the stadium near WT and make a new stadium to house High School Football games on Friday nights. This is kind of biased because I play High School football for Newark (Go Wildcats!)but this could house SHS and maybe the OHSAA D1 playoffs. All this during Halloweekends equals lots of money. I know this sounds idiotic. Don't hate.
If you play high school football, what are you doing in a chat room at 8:39pm on a Friday night? Shouldn't you be on the football field? Or, does Nerk play on Saturdays?
Sandusky High School already has a stadium. It is called Cedar Pont Field. Why would CP build them another one?
If you knew it sounded idiotic, why did you post it?
I do, however, wholeheartedly agree... its incredibly idiotic. Add hundreds of idiot teens to the park on a weekly basis? Yeah I'm sure the park will fall all over itself for that one.
Not to mention that anybody who isn't suffering from severe cataracts can tell just by glancing around the area that there is no way a football stadium will fit in that space.
Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."
Well for starters, who is going to pay Cedar Point admission to get into the park to get into a high school football game?
While I still think Cedar Point could stand to use a more permanent venue like Timberwolf Amphitheater at Kings Island, the Luminosity Stage seems to be working for the time being and I can't think of any other good place on the peninsula for one.
Also, a football stadium is a much bigger footprint than Oceana would give you anyway.
High school football is the only thing that keeps people out of the park on Friday nights. No thanks. Building something that was used eight times, at best, in a year, of scale also seems like a pretty poor return on investment.

When Kings Island had the College Football Hall of Fame on its campus there was a high school football stadium there. I don't know who played there, it might've been invitational, but anyway it's all gone now.
The HoF wasn't in the park (big mistake) and the football games did nothing to effect park crowds, except maybe traffic going in and out.
I rather the million dollars be spent on having warm water to wash your hands in all the bathrooms.....
Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast
^ No thanks. Plenty of people prefer cold water to wash their hands.
On topic - not on board with fall high school games, but maybe combining flag football with zombies could be a good Halloweekend attraction? Not necessarily a money grab, but people would do it because it's football season.
You prefer to wash your hands in cold water?
The water seems tepid to me at least but I don't know if it actually gets cold as the temperature outside drops.

^ I do. slightly warm water is fine too.
It's because my workplace decided to use extremely hot water with low flow. Bad combo.

The water in some of the restrooms is down right hot.
I thought everyone knew that this is the next million dollar idea they have planned for rollout...
