NewsNet5 Stupidity

I was watching the video and other things on NewsNet5 about TTD. The reporter did a great job, but I couldn't believe the comment on the slide show. The slide of the POV image of the train going down the hill is captioned "If riders don't get permanent brain damage from going down this hill, I would be surprised!". I'm sure it's meant as a joke, but after all the crap from Markey (sp?), it seems to be a comment in pretty poor taste!

Dude it was a joke, not an attack on the mentally retarded nation.

Yup, I know it was a joke. After the Six Flags brain injury study, and the publicity it received, I'm not sure if that joke was appropriate during media day, some people might be stupid enough to believe them.

I have a sence of humor but I found that comment, not needed.
Wow, and I thought it was stupid enough for one of the Toledo stations to air footage of it rolling back.

"Wheres the Callahan factory?!?!?"
Yeah, with all the hype about roller coaster G's being "harmful" that wasn't the best joke to tell to the GP. But, knowing that the G's are not harmful, I thought the joke was funny.

The Fast and the Fearless

If you're afraid to ride it then don't ride it. You're probably 50,000 times more likely to die making the actual drive to CP then to be harmed on one of the rides.

We all know that it is a joke, but what about John Q. Public who knows nothing about coasters except that they make him feel queezy when getting of one on his one trip to the Point a year. I think it was a poor choice of jokes for the moment. But oh well...

I don't mind the fact that Toledo showed a rollback. First, I'd love to be on it if it rolled back. Second, if that video scares people away, shorter lines for me:)
I think they said they had a few misfires in the early part of the day, so hopefully that means roll backs will be available if you get one of the first rides. A roll back would be great, you get two rides in one.

In a world where brain injuries have been the fashionable controversy in the last year, that's irresponsible stupidity. Someone should drop their Web producer an e-mail. You'd be surprised... they do tend to answer.

Maybe, they should've shown a full rollback. Just to prove the safety of the ride? Or, would this completely scare the GP away? I don't think so. I think it would draw more people to the park. Out of morbid curiousity. Just my thoughts.
