The only real overlap between KI and GL/CP is in the Columbus area. Why make the rest of us pay a premium to be able to go to KI maybe once?

Next year might be my first Michigan's Adventure pass.

Can I just say...

...that lady needs to start focusing on news. I feel bad for her.

This would be a great thing if they did it. I'm sure the add-on price will be a little higher though.

You don't think they will go 3 different routs do you? CP pass, Ohio pass, and a pass for all CF parks, or just like they do it now with the add on?

This would be great for the Ohio park hoppers especially. I live near Pittsburgh and make sure i get to the point once a year at least but, I may consider a pass to make the trip to all three parks next year if the price is reasonable.

I can't figure out why everyone is making such a big stink about KI being close to CP and there should be an Ohio pass next year.

You can purchase a CP pass this year and go to any CF park you'd like except GL. MA is just over 4 hours away from CP and can be accessed with a CP pass. Why should people who live in eastern Ohio 1/2 way between CP and KI be punished when you can live 1/2 way between CP and MA and go to either as it stands now.

There better be a good reason for them doing an Ohio pass next year, if they do. I say to just leave it as it is this year where you have to add GL on to your CP pass 'cause it's only an hour away and all the other parks are fair game with a season pass to one.

Punished?

Please tell me how they would be "punishing" someone by doing this.

What? What's wrong with covering Cedar Point?

What i said was this year you can buy a CP season pass and go to MA which is approx. the same distance from CP that KI is. Why would they make someone that lives in say....Colombus, buy an Ohio pass next year to be able to go to CP and KI but someone that lives 1/2 way between CP and MA can just purchase a CP and visit both.

That would be punishing someone for living in Colombus while someone that lives in Ann Arbor, MI can take advantage of 2 parks the same distance apart as CP and KI are.

I think annual passes will be one of the first areas that people will start seeing the change to Cedar Fair ownership. Paramount has also done several things to encourage people to buy their annual passes in the fall. Last year at Kings Island these included at various times, Free parking, free gold pass upgrades, getting the rest of the season free, reduced renewal rates and other things. People around Cincinatti and Dayton have come to expect these things. If Cedar Fair significantly raises pass rates and cuts back on the perks come fall, they may see an initial decline in annual pass sales.

Jeremy

I didn't really care how they charged more for GL addmission for those people who purchased a regular CP pass, such as myself. I prolly would have driven to GL if my regular season pass at CP was good for there, but since they wanted to charge more, I didn't visit GL. Doesn't sound right, they want to lower prices but yet they want me to pay more for GL when I would go there, buy pop, buy food, maybe even stay the night.

Its not fair that someone who has a pass to any other park can visit the Ohio Parks with no extra charge. Cedar Fair should forget about an "Ohio Pass" and just have every pass work everywhere.

If they don't, screw it, I'll get a Michigan Adventure pass.

Loopy,

Haven't you heard? Michigan's Adventure is 2 parks for the price of 1. Add Cedar Point and that makes 3.

I agree with Ben on this one. Depending on how they structure the pricing, I might also be switching over to a Michigan's Adventure pass next year.

Mr. Scott,

I never thought of it that way. I paid the $130 for the CP/GL pass this year and got 3 for the price of...ummmm....2 i guess?

;)

Can people with a Michigan's Adventure pass get into Geauga Lake with no extra charge? If so, then i feel punished this year. I'll drive the extra 4 hours and go get my MA pass next year and get into them all. That's right, i'm a bit slow on this do nothing, relax all day, Memorial Day weekend. *** Edited 5/29/2006 8:15:00 PM UTC by Loopy***

Yes, a MiAdven pass will get you into Geauga Lake, Cedar Point, and any other Cedar Fair park, this year.

At no extra charge.

One important thing to remember though, you cannot have CP or GL parking on an MiA pass, so if you want parking and you don't want to get parking stickers for your car you will have to stick with a CP or GL pass. *** Edited 5/29/2006 8:27:33 PM UTC by Coasterfan***
