I've driven past that unfinished Inn over and over and wondered what was going on. Being in construction myself I suspected that the project ran out of funding.

Does anyone know if Duke Thorson is planing on completing the Inn or if he just bought it for the property?

A spokesman said in March that plans for the site would be unveiled by late spring, and would include a "multi-use facility." As far as I know, that never happened. Sounded like they knew what they wanted to do and wanted to do it quickly, but it still looks the same.

Construction stopped on Air Inn in 1999 because of financial problems, so it's been an eyesore for a long time.

I believe that entire area will be something to keep an eye on. With talk of a regional airport down the road near NASA, the current airport's days may be numbered. There is a lot of land and it's a great location.

The property was cleaned up this summer though. Most of the excess wood, steel, drywall, etc. was removed and the structure itself was cleaned up. I had thought that they might actually start doing something with the property when I saw this, but then it just ended. I think it had something to do with a local boat towing company building a new facility right behind the Inn.
