Aside from wanting a little color in the lights. It looks pretty neat at night... I'm glad we got some early night shots of the ride and in action no less.
Still, nothing compares to Millenium's first night shot. *** Edited 4/12/2006 2:27:11 PM UTC by Coastern3rd***
You didn't post this in the "Official Testing Thread?" ;)
Nice to see the park springing to life!

Yeah. What the heck Walt, we don't need a new thread EVERY time a ride starts testing. ;)
As I said in the skyhawk thread, that last picture is absolutely amazing, I just wish I could get it in a desktop resolution.

Your right about that Coastern3rd. Millennium Force at night is really awesome, because the only thing that is really lit up is the Lift Hill and a little on the Airhills. I love the feeling of riding in the dark.
I'm not sure I understand how you expected it to be "vented" into the lagoon. The noise is generated by the tanks on the ride being filled and then releasing into the piston. How are you going to muffle that sound?

Magic beans? A guy can wish, right? ;)
Actually, the air being used to push and pull the arms has to be vented out of the pistons (not sure if that's correct terminology, but you get the idea) somewhere, which creates noise. That is what I was hoping to have vented, not so much because of the noise, but just because I think it would be cool. :)
And, yeah, there would still be noise as the cylinders fill with air, but I was under the impression (based on the blog entry from one of the construction updates, I think) that this noise would be quieter than the venting.
Of course, now that I'm thinking about it more critically, it would make more sense that the filling of the tanks would create a louder noise, since the flux of air pressurizing would be greater than that of the venting.
Perhaps FEE or RideMan could shed some proverbial light on this...

Well, the loud SWOOSH heard at PT is the tanks filling, not releasing. I believe that is the noise that everyone associates with PT that they were hoping "wouldn't disturb the FT atmosphere".

Do they vent air into the lagoon by the steps up to Iron Dragon's station? I've seen it bubbling there a few times near that floating 'barge'.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
We need some video from the testing.
I know it is like other swinging rides but still this is Cedar Point.

Especialy if we were eating them.
Here's my 2 cents:
Seeing as how Skyhawk is surrounded by Mine Ride, Snake River Falls and The Frontier Lift/Bathrooms, I don't see the noise being much of an issue at all. The only other thing that could be affected in the general vacinity would be the Museum and the Antique Cars. It's tough to say, but I don't belive you'll be able to hear it from inside the Museum and the Antique Cars arn't that close to it.

Looks good to me! I too, however, wish the lighting wasn't as plain, although it does look nice and should make for some nice night-time photography.
