News from the ACE NorthCOAST event today.

They wouldn't tell us anything about the new ride. But they did show video of the construction up close.

Mantis WILL be painted this year.

Blue Streak is getting parts retracked.

Mean Streak is getting its first 3 hills worked on.

This year they will finish 3 years of work on Gemini to replace all the wood.

The Schwabinchen is for sale. $50,000. The lady is said not to be showing up in the park anywhere else (and not on the new ride :)).

Opening day is May 4th.

CoasterMania is Friday June 6th. She said it will include some special things with the new ride.

Lastly. She said that while she could not say much about what is coming next year. She could say it will be the biggest year in Cedar Point's 132 years.

Oh... and there was a small auction. A "The Future is Riding on it" banner went for about $350. And a sign from the Wildcat about CP's 100 years of rollercoasters went for about $150.

At least it's a bit of an update. Some new stuff but nothing we really didn't already know. They better do a good job with the work on MS.

Also it was mentioned at the meeting that Fox 8 will be running another story about "Area 51" sometime this week so keep your eyes peeled for that.

Omygosh, it's leaning!

hey that is alot of updates. i sure would chip in for the old lady, but where would we put her if we got it anyway. and i really hope that if they are working on mean streak i sure hope they take out those goddam trim brakes on the first drop, those ruined the ride. but all that stuff sounds cool. im looking forward to the biggest season of the 132 so far, and its only 148 days away.....

I think you all will really like the video "Are you ready?" that CP is going to put on their website for download on Jan 1st. I got it confirmed once more that the Area 51 announcement date will not be till January, which, btw, I had said all along. There was nothing Janice said yesterday we didn't hear from Bryan last Sunday at the GOCC Xmas dinner. Of course I will definitely enjoy my TWO "exit passes" next season! :) Stay tuned for a tr! :)
