It's not offically going away yet. They said in the article that it will be up and running on opening day.

Imagine your favorite tv show. You've been through it all. The ups, the downs, the crazy coincidences and then bang! They tell you what it's all about. Would you be happy? Does it make sense? How come it all ended in a church? - Joker
To be fair, it was an "entertainment" type article, not "breaking news." It was part of a larger, fun article on building your own amusement park. It was more than just Demon Drop, though that was the photo that dominated the front page.

Cedar Point does not need more food to replace a ride.Unless it's BETTER food.

This is Demon Drop we're talking about. WWL is understandalbe (no one rode it most of the time), but when have you seen DD's station dead. I'll miss those days of walking in the main gate and watching DD when the rest of my group goes to the bathroom.

Don't forget the sounds of DD.:)
They are truely part of the unique sounds of Cedar Point. Some of the first things you hear (aside from Raptor) entering CP is the release and brakes of DD. I would definatly miss those sounds.
