Yeah that rain 2 nights ago was rediculous. I was in driving school from 5-930 and it started to rain at about 7. After an hour everyone was surprised to see the parking lot was about 3 inches underwater. Then by 930 it was about 2 feet deep in water. Driving home today by Ottawa Park in Toledo, #18 on the course looked like a giant lake with trees sticking out of it. Pretty crazy stuff there on Weds.
I don't feel like starting an other topic because this question pertains to the flooding in Ohio. My question is should I be worried about driving to CP on 90 coming from the east and than taking 250 north? The reason I ask is not just because of what I read in this news story but I was watching the weather channel and I saw some places in Ohio that were in the NE of the state and it looked pretty bad.

You should take their recommended route:
Cleveland/Erie/Buffalo
1. Take I-90 west to just past Exit 145. After Exit 145, I-90 exits to the left. Stay to the right and continue west on Rt. 2.
2. Continue on Rt. 2 west for 27 miles until exit at Rye Beach Road
3. Right onto Rye Beach Road
4. 300 yards to light at Cleveland Rd (Rt. 6)
5. Left at light onto Cleveland Rd. (Rt. 6)
6. Continue on Cleveland Rd. (Rt. 6) for 2 miles to Cedar Point Road.
7. Turn right onto Cedar Point Road
(The road is generally not marked, but it is the only road on the right in that area)
8. Continue on Cedar Point Road across bay. Road turns hard left just over a mile from Cleveland Rd.
9. Cedar Point is another 4 miles at the end of Cedar Point Road.
Yes, avoid I-90. The turnpike exit is in Milan (an area that had some flooding) and I'm sure authorities would prefer people avoid that area for a few days until things get squared away. The exit is not exactly a flooded area, but it's within 2 miles of one of the areas.
If you area familiar with driving 250 then follow route 2 to the next exit after rye beach. That is 250. Take a right onto 250 follow the signs to Cedar Point.
There were a lot of watery roads around here(not as bad as Norwalk, Milan or Toledo), but they seem to have subsided. For the next week I would recommend Route 2 to 250, to give people room to get things back in order. That route to CP remained relatively untouched, with most of Sandusky, well except for the topic of this thread.
At this point, there should be no concerns about driving to Cedar Point. There's probably still some flooding out there, but unless you have a really odd way of getting to Sandusky, I wouldn't worry about it.
We were at the park and in Sandusky tonight and had no issues in and around town (though very light crowds thanks to the rain this morning). Huron River looked like it was just about back to normal. Same with Mud Brook and Pipe Creek. I'm sure parts of Milan and Norwalk are still recovering, but nothing that you need to worry about on your drive.
Thank you for your responses. I really appreciate it.
