Wow, sounds like they have a lot more room to play with than CP does. Who knows, 50 years from now, King's Island may have left CP behind. Eh, on second thought, I doubt that.

I hope not...

What's this I read about CP relying on asphalt? Psch.

omg dont over analyze the article. We ALL know the major differences between ours coasters and (our) their coasters but the article was just for people who dont know the differences, or have never been there. Just comparing types, not elements or anything like that.

If I came to Kings Island for the first time expecting something that looks like Wicked Twister and saw Face Off I'd be pretty shocked.
Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~
^ I wouldn't. They both hang from the track and have 2 spikes. I'm sure that's all that would matter in the minds of most people.
The person interviewed for their opinion on the kids area comparison is a moron, although her name suits her perfectly. Seriously, Kings Island's kids area runs circles around Cedar Point's.

Cedar Point does a fantastic job with their landscaping. But there is much more vegetation at KI. You go through more trees on The Beast than on the entire CP peninsula... (vast exaggeration but you get the point)
Some rides at KI might have a higher fun factor at CP. It's ok to like other parks and rides... For example, Top Gun and Vortex are much longer, faster and Higher than their CP "counterparts."
I prefer Racer over Gemini...
The Nick zone at KI is pretty damn amazing, not to mention they have Beastie (i'll never call it Fairly Odd Coaster) I believe it has won a few Golden Tickets over CP. *** Edited 6/4/2006 11:24:44 PM UTC by Coastern3rd***
You might be able to compare another park to CP in one category (kids areas, coasters/rides, food, entertainment, location, landscaping), but trying to compare the two parks overall can't be done. This is the single reason CP is at the top always. They have a little bit of everything and do a rather good job at them all. *** Edited 6/5/2006 1:26:00 AM UTC by Gomez***

You know, I was about ready to turn a blind eye to the dropping of the classic Hanah-Barbera toons in favor of Nickelodeon. But when they renamed the Beastie I lost all respect for the new kids area. Sounds like that mom knows what the better cartoon character is. :)

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
But licenses expire. Is CP going to be allowed or even WANT to keep the Nickelodeon characters forever? Yeah, everybody buys the merchandise, and the CURRENT generation of munchkins knows all of the current cartoon favorites. But how many have the staying power of Peanuts/CP or WB classics/SF? Some of the Six Flags parks have a Camp Cartoon Network as well as Looney Tunes themed kids area. How many kids in the next few years are going to know characters that are no longer on TV? The parks will either have to change rides' names to the constantly changing popular kids' shows or retheme them to characters that have staying power.
And in regards to the kids "area" being better at Kings Island, Cedar Point has 4! I don't understand how anybody can say there is not much for the little ones to do at Cedar Point. Between Kiddy Kingdom, the Peanuts' Playground, Camp Snoopy, and Jr. Gemini areas, there are almost as many child-sized rides at the Point as there are adult rides. Yes, there are too many rides in Kiddy Kingdom that are the same with different looking ride vehicles, but I was jealous when I saw the mini dodgems and whipper. Cedar Point has some AWESOME rides just for the little ones! Plus 3 car rides, 3 carousels, a ferris wheel and a train, all rides that kids under 48" tall usually love. Maybe I wish I were a kid again:)

Oddly enough, Cedar Point's kids area just runs circles, going "erk erk erk erk erk erk erk erk erk erk erk....." :)

Since I have 2 kids now, I can honestly saw that I like the kids rides/ area(s) at CP better than KI. Not because the rides or area at CP are better than KI's, but because CP has the kids area spread out into 2 different areas where my kids can rides some of 'their' types rides, and across the midway are some of 'my' type rides. At KI the kids area is only one area and it is difficult when I go to FoF to keep my kids interested w/o causing chaos.
Beer and golf Thursday thru Monday, Cedar Point & beer, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Can you see One-Eyed-Willie from the top of Magnum?
What age(s) are your kids? Mine would pick KI over CP in a nanosecond. Nothing could possibly beat Scooby Doo & the Haunted Castle. If CP is looking for something to do with Peanuts Playground, that would be my recommendation.
Oh yeah, KI kiddie coasters are better than WE & JG too, at least in my kids' eyes. They LOVE Beastie and whatever that "mini-Raptor" is called.
Hey, I heard a rumor that Top Thrill Dragster is sinking...
I didn't realize that Kings Island had that much land... not mention that much AVAILABLE land... they are only using about half of thie available land. wow. Kings Island or as I will call it now Cedar Island (heh) can definitley add new rides and not even have to worry about running out of room.
