But... But... Everyone and their brother on here has already claimed that this isn't possible, so it MUST not be possible. :rollllllllllllllllllllllleyes:

Oh. I didn't think that was possible, either ;)

It's hard to top Gilman. ;)

i think it could be a launched inverted coaster. inverted can run on the triangle, and it's not new to intamin. and, the supports match in shape, and inverted coasters are known for "sidewinding" elements.

and, starting early could accomadate all of the construction that will take place. look at how many supports intamin has on their inverteds:

helix over the pond at the end. that fits with inverted too. i also believe that that curve of large footers:

will be the first hill. what if the launch went upwards, curving. it would save a lot of space, and still create a cool hill, and a nice "partial element," it might look a little bit like an overbank, but it wouldn't bank. and those twisting pieces could be for heartline twists.

sorry, if my thoughts are becoming scattered. haha.

and it would take some very large power, it would pretty much be like wicked twister on a huge scale, only, not impulsed.

i don't know, this just seems to be a good bet to me. time can only tell.

The Italian Stunt Job coaster also has an upwards circular climb after a launch...so inverting it would be a different play on that. Interesting idea.

Promoter of fog.

Why would CP put in another inverted? That doesn't makes sense, the footers seem way off for that layout.

I still think it's going to be a red, steel coaster personally, but I could be wrong :)

The electrical shed means nothing, most the coasters have large electrical rooms for the amount of equipment actually in them. Raptor and Mantis both have farely roomy electrical rooms beneath the stations.
And unless we have blue prints the structure could also store the trains for the ride, or could even be the stattion it self. CP usualy seems to make good use of what they do build. So I believe we will find out this fall ;)

When did CP start vertical construction?

That explains a lot.

Cheers!

Someone needs to get over to City Hall... ;)

The amount of power required to run a ride is in no way related to the size of an electrical shed. What it could relate to is that there are many monotoring points and there will be alot of PLC equipment.

When a ride requires a lot of power then they have a large transformer, these are usually not kept inside due to the fact that they 1: create a lot of heat and many control devices do not like heat and 2: these units create a lot of "line noise" which can adversly affect equipment that is used to monitor movement such as pulse encoders or proxy sensors like on TTD.

If you have ever noticed on WT the large green box outside of the electrical room on the beach side that is the Transformer. It has been rumored that the static heard on the station music for WT and TTD is backfed line noise from the LIMs on WT. Which is possible but would be easily be stoped with an isolation capacitor.

Did any one read the last sentence.

"500 foot coaster"

Gee does that ring any bells.;)

I sure hope we don't start into that topic again!

There has in fact been 2 new transformers show up on site since the end of last season.

Ben could you briefly describe size and what they kind of look like.

Just wondering if I could put my best guesstimate at possible power capacity.

Does anybody have pics of these transformers?

Ben, would these be the new transformers you're referring to?

...Or do you mean they have shown up, as in waiting to be installed?

If they are, it seems that they lead to Skyhawk from what I've seen:

http://www.pointpixels.com/PhotoFeatures/Newfor2006/newfor06-071.html

They lead across the Frontier Trail and then to this concrete right against the railroad tracks, from there they become somewhat difficult to trace, but they seem to lead back down the tracks towards Snake River Falls. *** Edited 6/21/2006 4:10:31 AM UTC by DBCP***

The left one in http://www.pointpixels.com/PhotoFeatures/Newfor2006/newfor06-052.html is new, the right one is old I believe.

There is also one on the construction site itself as seen http://www.pointbuzz.com/Gallery.aspx?a=459 back by the dirt pile.

The on-site transformer is from White Water Landing.
