After being "downsized" by automotive supplier Johnson Controls (JCI), I was suprised to find out that Michigan (and the Feds) tax unemployment benefits. What's up with that? That's money that I'VE paid into all of my life (including the 11 years with JCI)! As I see it, I already paid tax on that once, and now am paying it again.
Oh well, I guess living here and paying outrageous taxes is better than living in, say, Iraq.

Mayor, Lighthouse Point
But when someone in Congress tries to do something about it, some liberal tax and spend member whines that it's "giving tax breaks to the wealthy." Who cares? An unfair tax is an unfair tax, no matter who it's levied against.
I wouldn't mind the city tax so much if I could have a say in what goes on.
Anyway, sorry for the political tangents. :)

Mr. Scott, I am not 100% on this but, I do belive the money taken out of your weakly earnings is pre-tax so you are only paying tax on that money when you use it (like when you get a check from everybodys friend MARVIN!).
If Sandusky doesnt depend on Cedar Point to make them money then why did Sandusky pop a 3% parking tax on The Point before they had it stopped. Sandusky made from may to august $250,000. I think Sandusky needs to look at the taxes they make and start downsizing their own checks because they love to give them selfs raises and spend tax dollars on stuff they dont need or on trips they dont need to take. Its a simple fact that Sandusky will try to milk every dollar out of The Point to keep the budget from going under.
