News: Cedar Fair shareholders protest free-ticket change; company considering Kings Island

They took down all the trees at Cedar Point... except maybe one ;)
I can see Kings Island when the trees are down so I do go a lot.
Son of Beast = SOB = [censor] (I havn't ridden it re-tracked yet though, might be good now)
Face Off does seem to break a lot even if it did run for one day.

Cedar Fair would take better care of the park, and maybe give it a paint job.

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

Face Off is a great coaster, not as good as Raptor, but good. But, it has the same problem as Wicked Twister. One car, long wait (well not for WT anymore). It's a cool concept, but too time consuming.

Everyone seems to be forgetting something. Mr. Kinzel is the single largest shareholder in Cedar Fair, L.P. with about $13 million worth of stock. He is going to look very closely at every opportunity to grow the company, but at the same time, he is only going to make a move that makes sense for the company and its shareholders. After all, he is the #1 shareholder, and if the deal won't make him richer, why would he want to do it?

The 5 paramount parks are all very well developed parks, and as far as I know none of them are struggling. This could be both good and bad for Cedar Fair. It is good in the sense that Cedar Fair already has a good idea of what kind of long term cash flow the parks will generate. The down side to that is that because they are all well developed parks, there is a lot less room for attendance growth than say a park like Geauga Lake or Michigan's Adventure.

As a former employee and Cedar Fair shareholder, I would love to see Cedar Fair acquire the entire Paramount Parks chain if the deal is right. Unlike Six Flags, the division has a strong positive cash flow, even if there isn't a lot of room for growth. Cash flow is cash flow, and the investment will eventually pay itself off and start creating a return in the quarterly distribution.

For what its worth....

For those who say CF is not cross-advertising...

There is a full page ad in todays Cleveland Plain Dealer mentioning the lower prices of admission, Cotton Candy etc... with both park logos at the bottom of the ad.

Also, For those talking about the long time a business deal like this takes, remember one thing:

There are a lot of North East Ohio people reading this thread. We had a football team in the 90's called the Cleveland Browns. Enough Said.

Art is still a bastard.
