Does Paul Ruben call newspapers every day and ask if there is a story he can make a comment about? I swear, the man is EVERYWHERE!

I really don't think the home office will be leaving Sandusky. Even with these 5 new parks, Cedar Point will still be the flagship. I'm not even sure why an office in Charlotte is a good idea. A better office location would be somewhere in between KBF and Great Adventure in California.

I don't see them moving out of Sandusky when Dick lives about 1,000 yards from his office (give or take). I still think they should build/lease a corporate office on the mainland and start moving all non-operations essential offices to that facility. Purchasing, HR, Planning and Design, Marketing, etc could be moved which would open up space on the Peninsula.

And, yes...I do wonder how Paul Ruben became the de facto expert of the Amusement Park business.

I'm still trying to find someone that has actually seen a copy of "Park World!"

Years ago, when I was still in the business, I did actually read Park World once in a while. Actually, there were a few different publications that came and went but Amusement Today squashed most everyone else.

But, I just don't see the media "friendliness" of Paul yet he is always front and center.

For a large corparate meeting I see it easier to use a bigger town with more access to planes, rooms, etc. Plus last I checked, Kinzel is retiring.

There was a news story at the end of May in the Sandusky Register that said he may stay through the integration of the new parks.

If he wants to stay the Board is going to let him stay. I'm not sure the Board has ever made a decision that Mr. Kinzel didn't support.

Why would they move the offices out of the best park on the planet. And Mr. Kinzel lives so close.

Well, I will say this. History, tradition and a strong sense of what got them there is very important to Cedar Fair. All of that blossoms from the Point. The Cornerstones that they promote through their training programs all began with the Point.

In fact, I'd say Cedar Point is the cornerstone of the company. To me, the only reason why Six Flags' corporate headquarters is on Times Square is ego. I would hope that Cedar Fair will always be above that and I think that starts with always hanging on to where you came from. Literally as well as metaphorically.

I figured he lived close but where does he live?

Wherever he lives, all those houses are nice. I'm guessing it might be that brick house next to the parking lot? no? Nevertheless, the headquarters will be great in Cedar Point, why move away from your signature park? For a Carolina?

Life has it's ups and downs, might as well make it on a coaster!

You're right, it's the last house closet to the park.

Cleveland Hopkins Airport is only about 35-45 minutes from CP, and it has far better air service than Charlotte. Being a Continental Airlines hub, with the non-stops and connections that go along with that, is something that Charlotte can't touch.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Have you been to Charlotte? I didn't exactly think it was an airport to sneeze at.
