So now we have some dollar ammounts, but unless I'm mistaken, there was really not much new information included in there.

Well, it establishes pretty conclusively that KI is getting X-Flight. If there were any lingering doubt, this erases it. It also shows which parks definitely aren't getting any major new attractions. All in all, I'd call it a fairly substantial news release.

I was really hopinmg MiAdv. would get a new thrill ride that isnt in the water park.

Where exactly does it say that Kings Island will get X-flight. Unless they meant a new slightly used attraction I really do not see any mention of it.
Yeah it's sad. Oh well, something will come to MiAdv.......hopefully. We just have to enjoy Grand Rapids for a while and hope for an expanion on the HUGE amount of un-touched land.

Kings Island, another park that the company acquired this past season, and Knott’s Berry Farm, the company’s only year-round park, will spend approximately $10 million and $8 million, respectively, on their 2007 capital programs. Kinzel added that both programs will be highlighted by major new thrill rides that will be announced by the parks at a later date.
These were the only two parks listed getting new rides that don't have an announcement for them yet.
I have some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you if you think KBF is getting X-Flight. ;)

Its already been pretty firmly established that KBF is getting the Sierra Sidewinder spinning coaster. So it does give us 99% certainty that KI is getting X-Flight (which still makes no sense to me).
Too bad GL didn't get another waterslide or something in the waterpark. It still feels pretty half finished.

Who says X-Flight will even be open next year. They have yet to even start dismanteling X-Flights track or structure. There's a good chance that X-Flight won't reopen until 2008.

Actually, they have started dismanteling X-Flights track and structure...
Either way, sounds like some nice additions to the parks. I'd like to know what the restaurant upgrades are, and who exactly are getting ice shows...

I'm sure it's some of the older restaurants (Coasters and Johnny Rockets probably) that are getting upgrades and the Paramount parks are probably getting the Ice shows too. I still think MiA should get X-Flight due to no major coaster since Shiverin' Timbers.

Geauga needs alot of things , maybe they will get an ice show and a new restaraunt Johnny Rockets or a Coasters Drive IN
I too am curious as to what parks are receiving ice shows; and I wouldn't be surprised to see Happy Days Diner either be transformed into a Coasters, or be torn down and a Coasters erected elsewhere in the park.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Updating Coasters and Johnny Rockets already? They aren't exactly old. They get a lot of wear and tear, but I think Last Chance Saloon and Chuck Wagon Inn are a little more deserving; especially considering their close proximity to Maverick.

Huh? None of us said anything about JR or Coasters at the Point, we were talking about other parks in the chain. I'm guessing the $4 million will be spent mostly back in the Frontier area.

I guess I should have prefaced what I said with, "as of last weekend, it appeared as nothing was started yet."
Doug, did the disassembly of the track/structure start this week or is the progress not that noticable. Did you get any pictures?

Jason, did you drive up to the gate or walk or how did you go about getting those pictures? I was hoping to make it up Thursday or Friday, but I didn't happen. Hopefully one day this week.

Nice pics Jason.
It concerns me just a little that they just sit the pieces of track directly on the cement without any wood under them.
Just think, GL will have more parking now, just what they needed. ;)
