I was looking at the New Years Eve package. It looked pretty neat, albeit somewhat kid-centric. I'll be interested to see how well they do over the Holidays with the special events and pricing.

We're going next weekend on one of those ridiculously inexpensive Paradise rates---$129 for a Saturday night? Sign me right up. We're treating it as sort of our kick-off to the winter season, and all the holiday stuff going on is just a bonus. (Saves me a trip to the mall to visit Santa, too!)

Given that Friday's is closed, any other suggestions for dinner nearby? We'll have the kids with us, so Bay Harbor isn't necessarily high on my list, and I suspect Mango Mike's is going to be busy.

I would recommend Chet & Matt's Pizza on Strub Road as a good, kid friendly place. Very good pizza, smoke free, sports theme with a lot of TVs. Also, adult beverages for your enjoyment.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Excellent suggestion. I've always wanted to try that place out, but never had an excuse to get over there. Now I do!

You forgot to mention fairly inexpensive adult beverages. Sure, they're still more expensive that buying a case at the store, but it's way cheaper than most of the big restaurants. :)

Chet and Matts is AMAZING! If you have an olive lover have them check out the appetizers... they have Asiago stuffed Olives that are to DIE for!!! The pizza is fab too! If you have a big group, the King Kong Party Pizza is always a pleaser. My friends are STILL talking about the night I left our cabin (at light house point) to pick up pizza for dinner and came back with a pizza that covered the kitchen table!

If I'm not mistaken, December 7th is when everything is suposed to be smoke free.

You know, restaurants can choose to be smoke free on their own. ;)

Chet and Matt's also has a whole wheat crust that is healthier than white crust. Always like healthy (ier) options!

Chet and Matt's was very good when I ate there in May. I saved the number on my phone for those times I'm walking out of the park and feel like ordering a pizza.

I hope to finally make it over to 'swim' at Castaway Bay one day in the next couple of weeks. I can't wait.

So the "raft" of features is a puppet show?

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

You guys were right: Chet & Matt's was great. We'll be back!

Also, my CB visit has a Trip Report. Bottom line: great time. *** Edited 12/11/2006 2:35:17 PM UTC by Brian Noble***
