Maybe the Power Plant had so much smoke because it was cold. It's only steam so it gets worse as it gets colder.
I wish the drive from the plant to CP was only 20 miles! I believe its still in the 35-40 mile range at that point. Darn bay.
I think this new webacm is much better than the Skyhawk one. I also find it sort of cool seeing Snake River Falls in there too.

I don't think it's a "new" camera, is it?? It's the one that was pointing down at Skyhawk. Now it's pointing over to the pond to capture Maverick construction.
Check out the webcam this morning! There's a giant spider hanging from the track! Just in time for Halloweekends!
I know your being sacastic, but it's on the cam and not on the ride itself. Their done with the second tallest hill of the ride. Now they have to do the drop that plunges towards the pond (trying not to be obvios here) and the awesome hearline roll after that.

I'm glad you clarified that point to everyone that the spider was on the cam and not the ride just in case someone thought that they actually put a giant spider up there. Geez!
This new webcam just reminds me that there is no more space at Cedar Point so it is impossible to add a new coaster.
(And, if you believe that then I have some pristine land down here in the Everglades to sell ya!)

Since when is Cedar Point out of space?
...of course if that was sarcasim.

Am I the only one who is disappointed that the pond is being under-utilized by Maverick? I mean, you put a coaster over the pond, but have it way high off the water with the exception of a tiny part at the bottom of the dive. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. This element of the coaster could have been anywhere, over any type of terrain, but they essentially waste the opportunity to actually utilize the pond in a fun and exciting way. Imagine a quick bunny-hop turnaround out of the tunell, and then diving right down to the water and making a low banked turn all the way around it, past the people watching on the brigde, and into the roll element through the rocks that they currently have. I think that would have been a much better use of that water.
The reflection of Maverick's main hill on the water was also a very pretty, and picturesque sight when I was at CP the other day, and in the picture on the main page here. Unfortunately, that pretty picture will be ruined now with the big hill in the way of the other hill behind it, and messing up the reflective nature of the pond.
Now don't get me wrong, as I love how Maverick looks, and there is hardly anything I don't like about it. But this is the main thing that bothers me, as I really see it as a great opportunity to utilize the pond in a cool way wasted. :( Oh well. Just my thoughts....
Take care and God bless!
Oh, c'mon. A heartline roll right near the water, with some sort of waterfall and mini-canyon isn't enough?

No. I want a splashdown, fountain, and beef. Lots of beef. Preferably ground round, 80/20 for making burgers.
Nice to see the pond is being filled back up for the weekend.

I was wondering if they'd fill the pond back up. They were installing that last piece of track before noon today. It will be nice to see it full for the weekend.
Then I guess they'll empty it again on Monday, and they should be able to complete the track over the pond next week, if the weather cooperates. It's really moving along quickly.
I didn't think that they could fill it that fast. I'm impressed
On a way off topic note... the new firefox beta is awesome, it automatically spell checks as you type! Say goodbye to spelling errors in my posts!
